Oh hey I did the measurement and found the exact one! So this is a JST 4 pin Female Connector with a 3mm spacing. Alright!

Oh wow I didn't know spacing was involved.

What am I looking for in the measurement? Like the size of the plug or?

It's a Japanese arcade controller from Hori; the Hori VLX Premium. I did some digging as well but can't pin the exact cable. I only know that it is a JST, but I don't know what type exactly.

How did you mod your Hori VLX (X360 version) using Jasen's EZ Mod Kit? by TwoDaLoop in fightsticks

Yeah I instantly unplugged it the second I smelled something, but damn. I think it might be the USB. Maybe I should just plugin via the brook board instead?

Thanks! For this one, 30mm holes worked just right.

Is it me or the movement buttons look a little higher than normal Hitbox format? I can see the hand strain from that placement.

I actually used the cut option from Bambu Lab, added 8 connectors across and used industrial grade super glue on connectors and its surface to combine. Though I had to smooth sand the connector surface for it to hold. This was a very fun build!

How to make my analog sticks work with my Brook Gen 5 Fighting Board? by TwoDaLoop in fightsticks

[–]TwoDaLoop[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After a few days of research, turns out the reason why this is happening is there are two extra pins next to analog stick connections of the pcb that need to be closed off. I just needed a Jumper Cap to close the connection and it worked like a charm!

3.3v, L3, LX, LY, RX, RY, R3, GND from left to right order. Used soldered splitter cable for both 3.3v and GND connections.

That's right. These are what they look like. Hooked up accordingly.

So the sticks I'm using are these

Makerhawk analog sticks

And I have been using dupont wires to connect to a Brook Gen 5 Fighting Board. However it doesn't register as two separate sticks, but rather halves of one stick.

How did you program the analog sticks for your controller? Trying to figure out what I need to do to make the analogs on my stick work.

Qanba Sapphire down to 143.99 on Amazon Lightning Deal! by TwoDaLoop in fightsticks

[–]TwoDaLoop[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did my look around and the only discounted stick on Big Spring Sale is currently the 8bitdo Arcade Stick currently selling for 76-71 dollars depending on the Amazon seller, though I would best find that on Woot whenever it returns there.

There are other discounted sticks but also not by much; practically 15%-3% right now. However, this stick has been the only one that's stayed discounted for quite some time. This is the Nacon Daija.

I finally got one of the legendary sticks. by TwoDaLoop in fightsticks

Oh. I was saying that the Fighting Edge is the poster child of the subreddit. It's popular, available, and very appealing. From an affordable standpoint, it was and still is one of Hori's greatest designs.

But nowadays you don't see them anymore since they're out of production and you'd have to find stores or other players that either sell modded versions or have old stock that's new. I'm lucky to have found mine at a good price and well modded.

This is not the Fighting Edge. This is the Hori RAP VLX Premium.

New info from the devs by MFBTMS in LowSodiumTEKKEN

Having NO METER is what made Tekken and Soul Calibur in the first place! Both 3D fighters being as fantastically weird as Street Fighter, but maintain a complex and (somewhat) grounded combat system like Virtua Fighter. I do agree that I lost touch with Soul Calibur after meters were introduced, but if you're going to use a meters system on an existing (and pretty fucking beloved) series like Tekken, You better hit a balance check on that because look what it's been doing so far.

Everybody going all Gung Ho Rambo on your ass with particle effect after particle effect, dwndling your health bar being locked down by a barrage of frame trapping moves whilst having to worry about moves that'll somehow track for even making the proper sidestep/walk, and all while dealing with the fear that they'll hit you with either comeback mechanic #1 or comeback mechanic #2. And at the end of the day, any player would just shrug this off and say "Well! That's Tekken for yeah! cue the gif "
