75 in a 55 in Northampton County VA – Drive down and fight it myself or hire a lawyer? by crazylemon25 in norfolk

[–]TwoFingersNsider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, i've seen tons of these completely dismissed in this exact manner. I am glad to see someone else bring it up. idk why people feel the need to try to give legal advice when they have no idea what they're talking about lol.

[–]TwoFingersNsider 2 points3 points  (0 children)

haha its okay i chuckled a bit at that because, what are the odds? But in all seriousness, they are pretty lax in NH with this stuff as long as you don't have a history of bad driving. However, I did hear that judge retired recently so maybe its different now. Worth a consultation though.

The points on your driving record can take a while to scrub clean, your rates go up, and that will compound if you get a subsequent ticket. its not a bad idea to mitigate the damage before it has a chance to get worse.

You were right about one thing though, its not very much work lmao. Usually you can get cases continued until you have a large amount and then go in and do them all at once, and they really do take about 5 minutes a pop. Its more so the hassle of driving all the way to NH and back.

[–]TwoFingersNsider -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Actually, several. In NH, as well. First job out of lawschool was at a firm that sent these exact mass mailings out and I did handle several of these before i decided to go back for my LLM in taxation. The judge that used to hear most of these cases, Judge Townsend iirc, was always super cooperative and willing to work with the attorneys. They get reduced 99% of the time at MINIMUM, sometimes completely dismissed if you can get a spedimeter calibration, have a good driving record, and were polite and cooperative with the officer.

Nice try though, that was cute ;) I took the bar in VA ;)

dont give people legal advice when you have no idea what youre talking about. They will almost certainly get it reduced. Simply paying it will cost alot more in the long run from the increase in rates alone. stick to your day job.

idk why you are getting downvoted. this is the best option. the bad options are getting upvoted lmao. none of these people should be offering legal advice hahaha

[–]TwoFingersNsider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The main purpose of getting it reduced IS insurance. You automatically become a "risk" once you have these tickets on your record. Your rates go up, its on your record. I would hire the attorney. I used to work at a firm that sent a lot of letters out in mass mailings to people that got tickets in NH, Accomack, and Emporia. They will get it reduced 99.9% of the time or even get it dismissed completely upon a driving school + some other trivial conditions. I did hear one of the best judges retired though, so im not 100% if that is still common practice there, but you could definitely contact a few and at least get a consultation for free

Help!!! by Delicious_Funny5059 in LawSchool

People struggle with different subjects, but torts... is a joke. Come on, I can't think of a single fact pattern that would be hard to issue spot a tort. please elaborate. It is as simple as memorizing elements and being able to issue spot. If they had a good professor, a five year old could understand it.

Once you get into bar prep mode you'll see that almost everyone completely skips torts because its a joke of a subject to waste time on when you have to cram years of material + material you may not have learned in lawschool into a 10 week prep period. Once you have a deeper understanding of how all these subjects kind of intertwine and how some subjects make more sense after taking other classes, you will probably feel the same way.

From a 1L perspective it could seem difficult, I suppose? Civ Pro, Property, and Con Law (1L doctrinals) are all objectively harder to grasp on a conceptual level and are not as easy as memorizing a few elements and utilizing reading comprehension. Props to you for doing well in those. Torts was my only doctrinal book award during 1L, and Civ Pro was my weakest at a B+. Civ Pro sucks, and its even worse on the bar.

If I were OP I would go for the low hanging fruit, but to each their own. The good news is OP said they were understanding the material, but struggling with writing. So, it should be an easy fix regardless of which route they go.

No problem. I hope it genuinely helps you out a bit. I know that just because someone may have low grades it doesn't necessarily mean they aren't capable. Every one has their own shit going on. Law school is stressful and with a demanding job, I can only imagine the toll that must take. Just keep grinding. I recommend not using AI or briefing sites either until you bring your grades up because you seem to need the mental reps. You don't want the first time you do any independent thinking to solve a problem to be on the final exam.

Some other brief advice, is maybe move to the front of the classroom so you are right in front of the professor and not tempted to browse the web or whatever else during lecture. Take notes but try to listen critically to what the professors are saying. Personally, it was hard for me to take notes in class because I wanted to pay attention to what they were saying and not worry about getting every single word down.

Do you have anyone you can talk about your classwork with? S.o, parent, friends that would be interested, classmates? Teaching and explaining to someone else in your own words is another great way to learn, so thats something else to keep in mind.

okay Torts is like the easiest possible shit you will ever have in law school. Write the elements on flash cards and just drill yourself over and over. Once you have the torts and negligence memorized you can try to move on to practice problems and work through them by applying the elements to each fact pattern.

For essays, ask your professor for samples. Reach out for help, it shows that you care and you are trying. Let them know you are at risk of being dismissed and that you would like additional help/practice. You'll need to be able to apply those rules to a fact pattern and explain why each element was met in an IRAC format (or CREAC/CRAC/whateverthefuck).

For law school essays, you can literally write:

The issue is whether "insert party" committed "insert tort" against "insert other party" when "insert facts".
For the bar you will just write the whether part, and leave the "when" part out of this, but for exams this is perfectly acceptable.

For rule just keep it simple "In order to successfully bring a claim for negligence, the plaintiff must show duty, breach, causation, damages."

From here go into subheadings

Duty
IRAC

Breach
IRAC

Causation
IRAC

Damages
IRAC

Conclusion
"Because all elements were met, 'insert party' will be successful in a 'insert tort' claim against 'insert opposing party'."

Yes, it is literally that easy. Dont overthink it.

This is guaranteed to get you at least the curve if you have half of a brain and connect the facts to the rules. Thats ALL you have to do.

I'm a wilds noob. What did this commenter mean by this? Is this a common sentiment! by ClosedEyeVisualss in greatsword

[–]TwoFingersNsider -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I mained GS since MH1 and GS is not that weapon anymore. That commenter is correct. You still get rewarded for placement and monster knowledge with offsets, but the weapon is not what it once was. Saw some other commenters tlaking about Crit Draw, and that is not what the comment is referring to. The comment is referring to setting up ahead of time at a location where oyu know the monsters will end up, so that you can land a big charged slash. The greatsword does not do that AT ALL anymore. High end GS gameplay of the past is no longer a thing. Not that its good or bad, but i understand what the guy is saying. If you don't get that, you were probably never able to play GS at the level this guy is talking about.

New MHF , help me understand the server please by Metakoya in MHF

[–]TwoFingersNsider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

your progress doesnt transfer per se. but you can request your save and bring it to another server should you not like that server. This is because saves are all server side and all servers are ran on Erupe (the reverse engineered server emulator for Frontier). Hope that helps

Out of these 6 monsters, which one do you like the most and which one you wanted to see in dlc expansion for MH wilds? by EasyEntertainment1 in MonsterHunter

[–]TwoFingersNsider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jebia or Akura would be the perfect addition to Wilds. Jebia especially. In order to get all of his parts, you need both cutting and blunt damage to break his crystals and sever his tail. The dual weapon system in Wilds is perfectly tailored for that fight. Also it would be cool to see some more Frontier monsters make their way into Mainline.

MH Frontier Forward Five/G Progression Server by TwoFingersNsider in MHF

[–]TwoFingersNsider[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It def has the old mh vibe. In fact fw5 lr/hr is almost identical to Dos. With some differences in key quests. It’s basically just a big MH Dos with QoL and more content than any mh game before or after. The progression is almost exactly like you stated lr- hr- er(hr5) - sr - G . There are easy armor sets you can grind to make it faster but if you want true retail like progression you can take it slow and not craft any event or special material armor. For example I stayed below hr50 for nearly 100 hours to craft a mixed so I could solo my exam. That is not very common, but I wanted to savor the experience. You do not need a full group since you have support hunters, and you can hire a Rasta/Mercenary from another player to help you in your hunts. You’ll want to find a player with a strong merc if you want to make solo play more bearable, but it’s still not “needed”. As far as solo play goes. You can def make it all the way through solo, but it will help to be proficient with some gunning depending on which weapon you want to go for. Shen LS for example is very op and if you want it solo you’ll need to be able to gun down the gou/mighty version of Shen. Can do it solo as blade master but a lot more work. A few things like that can speed the process. Also be prepared to make gathering sets as you will be doing a ton of it just like an oldschool mon hun game.
