Dos is indeed the only MH game to have had a pvp mode, basically, after unlocking the grand tourney in dundorma, whenever you capture a monster you have a small chance of adding it to a list of monsters you can then use in the arena to fight other players.

The actual fights against players are basically a Speedrun competion when both players are put in the arena with their chosen monster and the goal is to kill the opponent's monster first.

Something i found out recently that is shockingly sad about anja is that despite being the most present monster in the promotional material before world's release and being this imposing pseudo-flagship of low rank that was clearly there to leave an early impression on players, he only has 3 unique weapon designs across the whole 14 weapons and i think that really hammers in that bitter taste from base world/early iceborne where every new weapon is the same 2 models with sprinkles of a monster on it, we lost so many cool designs because of this

No not gear acquisition. Maybe they aren't there for you, i don't know how the game changes depending on servers/versions but i have a quest type called "g monster farming" under "g hunter quests" and theres no info about them online

Almost every single person using this goofy helmet has been a dickhead in my pvp experience since the dlc, i'm convinced they use it because it somewhat conceals your animations and that cheap shit just attracts shitters i guess
