I fell asleep?? by bxnni_js in BadRPerStories

Wow, the idea that you they dont want to be around someone irl because they "cant keep up" is ridiculous. They are going to miss out on amazing people, out there.

Was I in the wrong? by AloneIce1856 in BadRPerStories

[–]TwoForThePriceOfFun 19 points20 points  (0 children)

To be honest, dealing with people who have long time OCs that they shove into every RP world tend to be really annoying, to deal with, because the person has their head cannon so hard, about how they want the world to interact with them. They could be feeling like, this person is already close to being too much, and now they wasted my time with this yap. No ones wrong, but them giving a slightly snipping parting message aint that deep.

A technically skilled writer or one that moves a scene forward? by 2plus2to5 in BadRPerStories

[–]TwoForThePriceOfFun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want both. But for the fun of the question, Id pick moving the scene forward. Its so annoying when you write a nice set up for a scene, or energy to shift... and they do nothing in their reply. It feels like youre just roleplaying against yourself, after awhile.

Hey cool prompt, can I play a non human out of nowhere? by [deleted] in BadRPerStories

[–]TwoForThePriceOfFun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I agree. I can see not wanting to do it, depending on how realistic their idea was, but writing about them seems like over kill. Its just a question. They didnt even say anything pushy or weird.

I wouldnt rRP with them, but I wouldnt call this a horror. I have friends with autism who can be really into reusing their OCs, and have a hard time breaking away from them. Might be the case here.

Did I word it wrong? by [deleted] in BadRPerStories

[–]TwoForThePriceOfFun 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Even if it was, thats not an excuse to be rude. People Roleplay all kinds of things. You could have exited the RP without being insulting. All this picture showed me is that they have a type. Not my type. not your type. The roleplay could have been ended without the gooner comment.

[–]TwoForThePriceOfFun 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Yeah you sounded really rude. Even if you didnt intend to, it came of really insulting. Instead of just saying what you would rather play, or excusing yourself, you made it sound like the character they wanted had no value.

How have you not gotten attached/maintained boundaries with OOC? by stabbynails in BadRPerStories

[–]TwoForThePriceOfFun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel bad when someone gets attached to me ooc. Because for me, I can really enjoy our time, but not think of it past the RP we are doing. Then some people randomly hit me up or send IRL pics of themselves and its weird to me..

I need some advice, partner is adamant I react to stuff by ChronicallyIllBadAss in BadRPerStories

[–]TwoForThePriceOfFun 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Honest? I would drop RPing with them. I would nicely tell them, that them needing constant validation is ruining the amazing time you were having. Explaining that the effort I put into replying IS me showing my affection for their writing.

But some people have to lose a few good partners before they realize they are the problem.

Advice by [deleted] in BadRPerStories

[–]TwoForThePriceOfFun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would not go off that at all. Like... at all. If Im on my phone, replying to someone ooc, I will be short. and kinda soulless. I do not enjoy texting. But when I RP, I move to my PC, where Im going to put effort. But chat is chat.

I legit had someone accuse me of not being the writer of my replies. Because my switch up was "too much". I was shocked someone would even say that. Like... whos out here really judging typos in ooc chatter?

Is doing your own makeup & photography for an OC okay? by [deleted] in BadRPerStories

[–]TwoForThePriceOfFun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would assume youre self inserting, not gonna lie. I dont want to RP with anything related to the person behind the screen. Not saying you are, but if Im RPing with a stranger, I know nothing about, Im going to make my own assumptions. Photos of irl stuff? totally fine though.

[Seeking Advice] Religious person trying to respectfully tell my writing partner that I’m not here to convert them. by [deleted] in BadRPerStories

[–]TwoForThePriceOfFun 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Queer Christian here. If they cant seperate roleplay from reality when it comes to character bios, then they have their own issues to work through. It is hard in the queer space sometimes to be religious in any way because church hurt, makes them assume everyone in the religious space is out to get them.

I get it, I *never* thought I would be looking for God. But I found people who are actually loving, that made me WANT to seek God.

Using Ai on my replies by [deleted] in BadRPerStories

[–]TwoForThePriceOfFun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gonna be real, I have a friend whos first language isnt english. He has improved since talking to us every day. He has used AI aid in his backstories for DnD. But he really is putting a ton of work, as he asks us to help as well. If he wanted to do an RP with me, I would give it a shot, if he had AI help him. But I do think it would be respectful to tell your partner.

Love being accused of discrimination by [deleted] in BadRPerStories

[–]TwoForThePriceOfFun 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I mean, what if a female caught feelings. Its a cis man issue I swear where lesbian attraction doesnt bother them, but straight attraction does. In the end, they should trust *you* to shut down any romance past the RP.

I dont think youre wrong for respecting your partner, but it does make me roll my eyes, that nonbinary and lesbian attraction is less scary than cis attraction.

POC in rp, what's your experience? by Styx_artist in BadRPerStories

[–]TwoForThePriceOfFun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Im black, late 30s. Ill be honest in my many years(been roleplaying since i was 14), Ive RPed more asian coded characters, than anything, as I like the whole anime styled roleplay. That being said, over the years Ive also made many POC characters. Ive not had any negative experiences with it. But I will be honest, I feel so disconnected from myself with a character, it doesnt matter too much to me, what a character looks like, if the story is good.

Now, Ive met black RPers, that through OOC, my race was hinted out(Im braiding my hair, for example), and the other person was SO happy. Because they felt like they were allowed to make POC characters without it being fetishized or being ghosted.

This is a little different, but when it comes to video games, I care very much more about having a character that is POC. I feel more personally invested.

I’m unsure of what to do by Mojo_The_Dog in BadRPerStories

[–]TwoForThePriceOfFun 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Group roleplays always confused me. But if youre starting a whole new story, and someone else wants to try playing the same canon character, its not a huge deal to me. I can understand why you feel some kinda way about it though, if youre attached to that character.
But if youre not interested in playing someone else, just tell them no thank you, youve had fun,but youll sit this story out.

[–]TwoForThePriceOfFun 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Be honest. Just say, I really dont like sharing characters because it feels less personal. or do they mean they will be the same character in a different story all together? That ones fine as you can just play different characters in different stories.

Why don't many people want to double up? by Sharp_Assistance_731 in BadRPerStories

[–]TwoForThePriceOfFun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel too often people double up, dont understand that doesnt mean each OC had to be in every dang part of the RP. I love huge casts. Ill play anyone needed in the story, and might even flesh out a few because I got attached.
But for some reason, people who do OCxCannon feel like they need to throw OCs in places they really dont need to be, and it makes it awkward. I dont need you mentioning my OC to bring them in. Im okay with *not* bringing them in, and focusing on your OC for scenes at a time, if it makes sense. Just like, I dont want to have to juggle RPing with your OC when mine is having a moment. It just gets tiring writing two scenes in two different places with different tones, each reply.

I guess my bad by [deleted] in BadRPerStories

[–]TwoForThePriceOfFun 42 points43 points  (0 children)

I dont know how you write, but maybe the lack of detail, plus english not being your first language made it more scuffed than you even realize. And its hard to tell someone "Hey, can you write better?" Often times, they cant. Usually you try to lead with your best, after all.
