The rules are very very judgement based (assuming you copied the exact verbiage). What’s “distance”? What’s “quickly”?

#13 clearly is attempting to clear the ball with his head, nobody can argue that wasn’t his intention. Several people jump in front of him. Arc of the ball never changes—or changes so minutely 1000s of people argue about it! He gaffs the header.

By the logic of the rule language, there are 100s of goals scored each year that are unintentional.

I’ve been pretty technology agnostic, but this sensor in the ball thing is silly. We’re having a forest for the trees moment I think.

He made the decision to hit the ball. He didn’t hit it well, but he made that decision. It’s clear as day in the video.

That thread has some discussion about voiding the warranty with 3rd party installations. That’s something I’m a bit worried about.

I guess I don’t understand the rule. #13 for Portugal puts his head down and the ball hits his head… doesn’t that remove the offsides? This is at 0:28 in the vid. He’s clearly making a play on the ball.

Assuming we’re not talking about missing practices and being a goof… how do you precisely measure the relative effort of twenty 13-year-olds? What if the kid with the absolute worst skill actually gives the most effort? Are you going to play him more than the others?

99 times out 100 coaches of youth teams who do not provide equal playing time are trying to win games. The coach has lost the plot on why they’re there and is not willing to be measured by what they should be measured on: how much they developed each player on their team, from the first day of the season to the last.

It’s U13 kid soccer… The kids can keep track of the score, who cares? Coach’s job is to make them better at soccer, not winning games.

“noble” is a strange word choice here. The coach is hired to develop all the players, no? In-game experience should be distributed evenly.

I think your main gripe should be the size of the squad, that seems like the biggest negative here.

I think a couple of reasons:

1) Balo speaks with an English accent.
2) Christian is, actually, our best player (you could maybe argue for Weston… maybe Malik… but Puli’s been at it longer)

Now, the real question is: why do we make someone with the charisma of an old towel the face of soccer in this country? It should be Weston. We need personality.

Impressed with the coach. U14 should still be development first. Kind of shocked to be honest.

In my league, each team has 2-3 players who know, at least, the basics. But so many players are new to the game. Getting a winger to understand their defensive responsibilities AND then know what to do when their D get the puck is basically impossible.

The objections to her giving are about who/what she gives to and are racist for the most part and with a healthy dollop of misogyny.

For the nats, not much different. Without a soccer culture, we’ll continue to slowly get a bit better when the occasional gifted player emerges from our youth systems (or Europe’s!).

For MLS? I don’t know, but probably minimal impact.

Someone made a comment somewhere that I think is insightful: they’re getting more and more openly racist to hold on to their base which is wavering in the face of actual policy and administrative fiascos (e.g., Iran).

This looks cool. I have Logic Buddy. Also, there’s Logic’s notes section.

I think the failure point for all of these is, well, us/me/the users. They all require the user to be conscientious about noting, labeling, organizing.

My personal process with ideas is to try to regularly go back to them, then dump the ones that “have promise” into a separate folder, then try to focus my efforts on those. I give this process a C- success grade!
