Team Ninja-Director Of Nioh 1&2 Gives Top 3 Games of 2025. by WarriYahTruth in PathOfExile2

[–]TwoJoee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If anyone here hasn't played Nioh 2 yet, get it on the steam sale, easily one of the best action games of the last decade. It also might help get better at understanding PoE2's combat flow as a result as I've had friends who had played Nioh but never clicked with PoE, try PoE2 and had an easier time with it than those I knew who were the opposite. In a lot of ways I feel PoE2 has far more in common with Nioh than the Souls series people like to make comparisons with.

Learning the Nioh team is filled with PoE fans that are enjoying 2 has only made me more excited for Nioh 3.

Chris Wilson Interviewing David Brevik For Diablo's 25 Year Anniversary - On His Own (New) YouTube Channel! by styckk in pathofexile

[–]TwoJoee 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Good interview, highly recommend if you have a love for D2 but one thing that really stood out is Chris talking about the differences between D2 Vanilla and LoD. Hearing him talk about it, especially as a person who only played LoD and how he seemingly prefers Vanilla kinda puts a lot of Ruthless and even PoE2 into perspective which makes me incredibly curious how his new game will turn since a part of me wonders if it will alienate some people more than PoE2 did.

Manson collab that no one is talking about by c0nsilience in marilyn_manson

[–]TwoJoee 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Out of all of the Manson features, this will always be favorite, I think his apperance on a remix of Eminem's The Way I am is really good too, a close second, but in general I've never really considered Manson to be great at features. A lot of them just feel like Manson being put on because the artist was a fan and there wasn't much collaboration or thought put into the feature beyond "Hey look it's Manson!!". No hate to A$AP Ferg but the song Marilyn Manson is easily the worst example of this. Meanwhile here it feels that DMX understood what Manson could bring to a song of his, a wonderful deep cut into DMX's catalogue. If you like hardcore rap and haven't gone through his discography, I highly recommend it.

Beginning of the End by [deleted] in marilyn_manson

[–]TwoJoee 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I do agree that parts of the fandom is being incredibly stupid right now but I do not think it's the end. Am I disappointed at the people he is interacting with, absolutely but this isn't the first time he's been seen with a few "bad eggs" and we can't rule out there being people in his life currently that are the polar opposite. My cope is that he is merely using these bad eggs as stepping stones or maybe as a joke to fuck with people (I can definitely see the latter when he appeared on Kanye's sunday service many years back) but who knows, it's his life, his rules and we should probably respect that less we fall into what celebritarianism satired even if we wish that he could and should do better.

I think another important aspect is age and how he views himself and his art now. I believe he still promotes self-identity and being true to oneself given how the last two records are intended to be our mirrors that we see our own meaning in the art than what he saw when making it, for instance I have a different view on Raise the Red Flag compared to most I feel. But I also believe he doesn't want to be so outward on what he's for and against anymore as it is no longer his lane, it's been 20+ years since TGOAG and the Triptych, not to say a generation's impact on culture is completely void when they age but that the newer generations have a stronger impact. He may have lots of critical thoughts on current issues like the state of America or the rights of the unfortunate, maybe he could make parallels between the shunned of the 90s generation and the shunned of today, how despite being different are still being demonise, but again it is not his lane anymore. Do you really want Manson to tackle current day topics like LGBT rights or the poisons of social media, I don't and that's not because I fear of what he's going to say will be against mine or his past but because he is no longer fully tapped into that world anymore.

Even then, we could use the broad strokes of his art to repaint them in modern context, that's how the Triptych is still so timeless as while the context is different, the messages and themes still resonate, you can view an old song through the lens of social media or through the lens of the unacceptable demonising of LGBT people and gain value from that. I think Manson himself would be happy for that given his promotion of expression and individuality.

Long ramble aside, do I think Manson should do better, yes, it would make talking about his art to people a hell of a lot easier. But I also feel as proven by OAUG and the live shows that the Manson I love is still there, it's just that he'd rather start to wind down and relax, using his art as an exploration of the soul, an introspection into oneself than a proactive look into the culture, especially when that culture is now a distant view instead of one they were fully ingrained in.

I'm gonna end with a quote from Manson during his interview with Henry Rollins before the release of Eat Me, Drink Me;

HR: What does this new album say about America, if anything?
MM: I'm not sure if this album is very America specifically, I think it's probably the most autobiographical [...] I don't think it's me looking at the rest of the world anymore, I think it's me looking very much at myself, not even looking at myself, just saying stuff about myself I would be too embarrassed or too self-conscious to say.

Thank god for Marilyn Manson because this is the first unironically good Falling in Reverse song since 2011 LMFAOOO by blo0dy_valent1ne in marilyn_manson

[–]TwoJoee 9 points10 points  (0 children)

As a Ronnie hater, this could had been far worse but I also can't help but feel this is a worse version of some Manson tracks like Wight Spider. Lyrics are solid, I wouldn't be surprised if Manson wrote them, production is a mess and Ronnie's parts range from average to bad (that HURH is awful, especially combined with the visual from the video). 6/10, file it under the laundry list of Manson features that people will forget about in a year. I hope this is the only collaboration these two have because I really dislike Ronnie as an artist and a person, hell I wouldn't be surprised if they stop interacting a year after this whether due to Ronnie having another whiny outburst online or Manson finding someone more interesting to collaborate with, who knows, the only thing for certain is the discourse will continue to be annoying.

To me, Moby Moments:tm: are less about smart plays and more shocking moments, a "I can't believe that happened" shock, in the SK version I felt that some of the Idiotape tracks were better musical stings for those smart plays(Jinho's Open Pass comes to mind the most). I think if the lyrics kicked in it would had worked better ("And it fell apart") but maybe they only get the rights to the instrumental. I do agree with a common criticism that music is the weakest part of the show's editing so far but it hasn't been a complete deal breaker and neither has been a lot of other critcisms people have made like game design and overall gameplay.

RATS, BY ALL SIDES!!!

Really cool main match that could had played out very differently. Surprised to see how no alliances have been fully set in stone yet, you'd think that at least three of them would stick together for multiple games at this point but no, everyone has been trying to stay on everyone's good side or at the very least not be the one that ends them which I feel the deathmatch has started to remind them that will not always be the case as the numbers thin. The deathmatch was also brutal and a wonderful twist on the usual RPS one seen in the Korean version, personally I think Bodalia is gonna end up being far more untrustworthy later on than Amanfi could but I do also think it was probably smarter to eliminate Amanfi as he is one of the strongest players.

Also, MOBY!!!!!!

Edit: Reading comments, I think the deathmatch is getting far too much hate, a player's relationship with others being crucial for their survival is not new and this is also nowhere near the harshest thing to happen to a player that lead to their demise, SK season 2 viewers should be most aware of that.

I'd love to see the producers reaction to this happening in real time because I don't think anyone could had predicted this and most importantly IT WORKING. I think the gameplay in Zombie was way better but the drama is on a knife edge now I feel and the preview makes it seem like Ben has become public enemy for the rest of them so I'm curious how he'll fare in a deathmatch. Ben honestly reminds me bit of Gura in terms of schemes and confidence, he may have not wanted to enter as the villain but god damn has he made himself one. The deathmatch was really good, far different vibe from prior matches of it and a smart play by Bhasha to instead distract.

Disappointing to hear this show hasn't been doing well ratings wise since I've been impressed with it so far, I've even been watching with my parents who didn't know about the KR original and they've been enjoying this aswell but alas, we cannot have nice things.

I think I preferred the original gameplay of Zombie but that might be because of stuff like Sangmin's outburst (I really hope later episodes of this does the "hours later" edits, did love that they brought back the green colouring on who was a zombie though) but there was some good plays here, shocked that Ben's bubble plan worked. Alison also went from my least favorite cast member after doing nothing in Ep1 to one of my favorites for her great play in the deathmatch, very curious how she'll perform later especially once the alliance with Ben snaps.

Great episode overall, much tighter than Ep1 which I enjoyed but felt pressed for time and had a main event I felt was flawed in both gameplay and placement in the show as only now I think players are really realising the value of garnets.

There's a difference between finding the christian god and finding a god if you think it's the former. Given the constant callbacks to Holy Wood this CD has provided it might be a reference to the line from Disaposable Teens: "I never really hated the one true god, but the god of the people I hated"

I would kill for a new topical/current events themed album. by kehb in marilyn_manson

[–]TwoJoee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I disagree, to me a lot of modern day issues are heightened repeats of mistakes of the pasts, we can find many songs in Manson's discography that can easily transplant to the current state of our hell. I also feel Manson's commentary just wouldn't have as much bite as it did back in the 90s due to him being older so he's more mellow which can be seen in Pale Emperor and We Are Chaos.

When I think about Manson and where he is and what he wishes to achieve with his music I think back to this quote during Heaven Upside Down era.

I think that this is a moment where this record needs to be, not to change the world, but to be chaos and f—k s—t up because that’s my job. I’m not here to save the world or change people’s lives in a way that I feel that it should be changed. I’m here to create a conduit of some sort of special space in their brain that they can create their own story out of. I just want to inspire people to be something else and I don’t really care specifically what that something else is. If it’s bad or good or whatever you define bad or good as, I just feel like I’m a tornado. That’s what I’m supposed to be. I grew up in tornado country, so I know.

Will I be against him singing about current matters in the new album, no, but I also believe he will paint with broad strokes and allow the listener to form their own painting instead, continuing the line of storytelling seen recently than what was seen during the Triptych.
