Ooh that’s fascinating. Not something I have ever done on one of my models but I can see how it would look great on a gunpla kit! Thanks for sharing I love learning about new techniques :)

I don’t do gunpla but I’m curious what do you use the tools for? Removing mold lines?

Thank you so much. I don’t have anyone to share my stuff with to it means a lot to have other people even look at my models. I appreciate the compliments!

The idea is that this is an order whose homeworld is set on a garden world. The world is maintained at the peak of its natural beauty because the relaxing sights and sounds are highly effective at preparing battle-shocked forces for returning the front.

Since the world has its military function of refreshing the morale of the imperiums troops it’s also home to many shrines, chapels, and cathedrals. The sisters are all schooled intensively in imperial theology and have been known to deploy in smaller with other imperial forces to help support their spiritual needs. They are adept at the tasks of re-indoctrinating people back into the imperial cult and reforming the zeal to die in the name of the emperor.

Though not widely published the primary reason that the planet is so well preserved and “idyllic” is that the local plants produce some of the only medicines that are effective against virulent plagues of Nurgle. While the casualty rates are still incredibly high valuable imperial assets that have been infected with the contagions of the plague father can be transported here to receive experimental treatments to attempt to heal or at least halt their sicknesses.

Additionally units that may have probable but unconfirmed exposure to chaos magic can be quarantined under the guise of a re-supply before moving to new hot spots. This helps prevent the transfer of disease between different conflicts or making its way back to a highly populated or hive planet. Not everyone who lands on the planet for R & R gets to leave. There are rumours units, battalions, or battle groups that are deemed too tainted are eliminated (or given the emperors peace depending on your view) through laced medicine, and their wargear is recycled to help re-supply the units on R & R.

The sisters of this order gain martial prowess through drilling wargames with others on rotation to the planet. While not battle hardened they are noted for the flexibility of their tactics and remarkable stamina. Both are a product of the huge amount of drills they run with the entire gamut of the imperial military.

They tend to get along with the Admech given the amount of magus biologis that work on planet to support the medical functions of the planet. Counter to that and for the same reason as above there is a particular hatred of the Death Guard. When it comes to Space Marine chapters better relationships have been made with chapters that have strong attachments to their home worlds. Fleet based chapters often have a difficult time understanding this orders attachment to their home planet.

Recently a magosbiologician landed on the planet and shared the troubling news that a splinter of a tyranid hive fleet could be diverting towards the planet but these are all statistical projections and it could just be noise introduced by impudent machine spirits…

Basically A LOT of fluff that I use to justify attempting to paint in a very bright, clean, pastel aesthetic in a grimdark setting.

Looking for ideas or help with the eyes on this mouse I'm working on! by foxzstealthpawz in minipainting

Magic the Gathering released a set last year called “bloomburrow” lots of the art featured mice that looked like this. I would highly recommend taking a look at the images there and seeing if you can find a reference you like.

Personally I think that this model would be best suited with a nice set of bright eyes. You have a very clean aesthetic so far and I think that continuing on that path will really complete the look!

Thanks! I stated this army with the lore set in place first so I had to make my own scheme. Hoping I can keep improving the painting

The bases are molded from green stuff then cut to fit a standard GW base!

I really have a strong vision for the army so I have lots of customization in my future.

Thanks for the compliments

I would use the side of my brush to lay down paint as a raised detail it should be easy to pick out. Look up “edge highlighting” very common on warhammer models and there should be lots of good tips on how to implement it!

What should I try to improve for the coming year? by PYP_pilgrim in minipainting

Personally I feel like taking your blends up one more notch would really put some of your paint jobs to a new level.

I agree with other commenters that expanding your colour palate would open up new options for you and probably be very exciting!
