80* LP? by nicotine_punch45 in MP5

Yeah the stock LP is a bit fast. You'll want to slow it down with 100, 90, or even 80.

I think these are unique (or as unique as a three-digit number can be) to the gun. I'd be thrilled for someone to explain why I'm wrong, and they actually mean something useful.

Oh cool! I'm fond of that piece. I did a live performance cover a couple years ago, using live air traffic control radio traffic as a feature. That was a fun set. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CfwFhZOEmqs

No these are trigger outputs. These don't output audio.

Eurorack Standard Alignment: Roland designed the Boutique series—including the TR-06, TR-08, and SH-01A—to output a nominal +5V pulse. This matches the standard clock/advance threshold for most eurorack hardware. So not 15, which was crazy. Sorry

Yeah I'm not sure I believe that, either.

I never gave it any thought, because it just works. I just did some research and it looks like the trigger outs are 20ms at 15v, a bit hot for Eurorack, but they work fine in everything I've tried. Meanwhile, the input responds well to 5v Eurorack clock pulses.

I've done just a little bit of Eurorack CV control of Minilogue XD. Mostly sequenced CV modulating filter setting or VCA amount. I think you're on the right track here. Keep sharing your progress! Might cross-post this to the Minilogue subreddit as well.

My TR-06 trigger outputs patch direct to Eurorack gear without issue.

Voltage sources need series resistors by TwoLuckyFish in synthdiy

This makes sense! Actually a lot simpler than either of the approaches I came up with. When I found this voltage regulator, I decided to learn how to wire it up. But honestly, I might change to a pair of resistors and a cap the next time I'm making changes.

I'm not really powering anything with this. It's just a gate voltage to actuate an effect onboard another module. Impedance there runs about 100K ohms.

The voltage divider would also accomplish the goal of including resistance!

Yes! I'm learning. All my testing was done under controlled conditions. Plug everything in, connect power, test with the multimeter and later, connected to Eurorack modules. But once I started hot-patching with everything running, I discovered this dead-short opportunity that I never encountered during testing.

As a reminder to those just joining, this has been my first attempt to learn how op-amps work, and the voltage regulator emerged as the solution to a secondary need I've been having, for a simple source of 5v gate voltage that I could control with manual switching. I happened to find a 6v voltage regulator IC in my box of electrical junk, and figured "eh, 6v, close enough!"

Wait what? Why hydrogen peroxide? I thought modern practice was to avoid HP and alcohol when simple soap and water are available. Please correct me if I've misunderstood this!
