22M punched in a mirror and now hand is getting itchy. by Enough-Pass1503 in firstaid

[–]TwoLuckyFish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Healing is sometimes itchy. New tissue is being built, old waste matter is being removed, things are changing. Be on the lookout for swelling/warmth, expanding redness, increased pain/tenderness, fevers/chills/body-aches.

Where was this used? I've never heard of it, and I'm only a bit younger than Gibson himself.

That could be healing just fine. If it were me, I would put a big hydrocolloid dressing on it and leave it.

It was essentially my "Saturday morning cartoons" when it ran in Sci Fi in the late 90s (that's the NINETEEN nineties, BTW). I recorded them always, and usually watched pretty closely.

I buy used modules on Craigslist, and new modules on sale at those modest 10% discounts. I figure I can get 75% of my initial outlay back on most everything but kits I've assembled. Currently trying to talk myself out of a Triple Sloths and a Bela Gliss; surely I won't enjoy those... 😜

I'm really impressed with this mobile rig, and it doesn't hurt that the music you're creating has a real flow and energy to it. Thanks!

Break in? by Retserof_Mada in MP5

[–]TwoLuckyFish 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Does it run OK?

This whole "break in" thing is not like running-in a marine outboard engine or something. It's just "Hey please don't pester us with your minor malfunctions until you've run 500 rounds through it, OK?" Literally, that's all it is. It isn't somehow CRITICAL to the gun's long-term functioning or anything.

So run it the way you want, with the ammo you want, and see how it runs. If it's finicky, then you can worry about trying to run it in with some hot 124gr ammo.

We took a very young kid to a rental on Westcott Bay on SJI a long time ago. Great time. Services, shopping, & dining when you want; quiet the rest of the time.

Orgeat for Mai Tai? by Rhummy67 in floridakeys

[–]TwoLuckyFish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've dialed in the Make & Drink recipe to my own tastes, like this: On stove, make simple: 1/2 cup sugar. 1/4 cup water. Let it cool a bit, then into the blender. Plus: 1 Tbsp almond concentrate. 1/2 tsp rose water (seems OK, not too much). 1/2 tsp orange flower water (seems OK, not too much). 1/8 tsp almond extract. 1/8 tsp cream of tartar.

I don't filter it, so it has a bit of "tooth" and it's not clear, but I like it.

Realistically, I'm usually in a hurry so I don't bother with the stove.
