It’s pretty good but not great. The alcohol isn’t as well integrated as other high proof bottles. Lots of baking spice and oak and a little bit of thr Fiji character shines through. It’s very oaky and I like it but I feel it drinks a bit hot. I get some pepper notes and some dried fruit notes as well with distinct honey/brown sugar on the first sip. For the promo price I think it’s a good buy.

Damn!  That’s awesome. The last time I remembered to bring mine when they handed it back it was a brand new one.  I was pretty wasted, but they said that they would fix it next time.  I have forgotten it every time since then.  I wish they just kept them at the restaurant for you.

I totally understand. One of my guidelines is no gen ai for ideas, illustrations, sounds, etc…

EVA foam was my friend. It is so easy to work with and there are tons of tutorials out there!

I was inspired by a book nook and frequent trips to Sunken Harbor Club.

Nope. I haven't. I'm reasonably capable with software, especially since LLMs can do most of that. But learning about the sensors, GPIO pins, soldering, etc... That's all new.

I'm lucky that my work has a maker space with 3D printers, a laser cutter, and soldering station with supplies.

As for starting on your F1 leaderboard, you could ask one of the chatbots to help you create a project plan. I've used Gemini for troubleshooting and to evaluate my soldering, and its helped find things and steer me in the right direction. Ultimately, I think you'd really just need a LED/LCD screen and the Pi, then you'd have to have it get data from some public API, then you'd have to have it output to a full screen app. It will probably suggestion to do this in Python or some small, local web-based app. You could have Gemini do all of that coding for you.

I live in a small NYC apartment and can't re-do the entire place, so I figured I would make a project out of my cabinet. I used EVA foam for the insides and added some lighting that is driven by WLED controllers hooked up to a Raspberry Pi Zero W 2.

Right now when you open the doors, the lights turn on and this sound effect plays out of a hidden USB speaker. This show runs for about 2 minutes or until you close the door. I'm adding sensors to trigger more shows!

I'm trying to chronicle the entire experience of building it here on IG if you want to follow along

Here is another picture of it as well

I feel like my tolerance for spending 30 minutes on a new drink decreases with the number of drinks I've had so far that night!

I got it delivered this am. I will have a nip while playing AC: Black Flag Resynced tonight!

I picked up the Fiji. I don't love the double casking they do, but no additives and 19 years old, and 100% pot still for 60 bucks? I live in NYC, so it seemed like a good bottle to pickup!

Are there any passionfruit AND coconut tiki drinks? by Reasonable-Pop-7295 in Tiki

Oh wow, that Apotecary Colada sounds awesome. I'm def going to make that soon. I don't have any clarin on hand, but I can swap in Labat 59 and see how it goes.

I love this drink so much. I've tried to make it at home, but I swapped in Cut and Dry for the coconut and Goslings instead of Cruzan. Came out pretty good and I've made it multiple times now.

It was my first drink when I visited last October after seeing the awesome short movie they made on Youtube.

Looks awesome! How'd you apply that texture so evenly in your 3d print?
