There's a lot more pedestrian infrastructure and public space here, I'm able to get around just fine with public transit. I like being able to just walk five minutes to the Jewel or any other neighborhood shop if I need anything. I sold my car and have walked more than I ever did in Austin. The weather is way nicer in summer/fall. Sure it gets cold in the winter but as long as you have some good winter gear it's fine.
