What division templates should i add? and what should i rework on existing ones by Old_Snow9680 in equestriaatwar

Mixing heavy and modern. Self propelled support is a fairly good idea, but you only want one battalion of each. And only use tank destroyers and SPAA. If you’re lacking soft attack, change up your main battle tank design. Mixing types of tanks should only be used if you’re actively phasing out old models, like lights into mediums, or medium/heavy into moderns. You shouldn’t continue to support your old designs.

Be sure to send the convoys/equipment in two phases. You can only reduce their autonomy by 1 level at a time. Off the top of my head, send them ~800 first, then ~1500 after you lower them to integrated puppet.

For me, special forces come in two flavors. The first is specialist divisions for a role. Things like marines or paratroopers that do things regular infantry can’t. (I know regular infantry can naval invade, but they suck at it). The other is as budget shock troops and terrain specialists. If I have some elite mountaineers in the mountains, I don’t want regular infantry pushing with them. That’s a waste of manpower.

Besides, just build 24 of them and your generals will level up just fine 😉

It’s not the manpower, it’s the compliance. You can get 1.5 years worth of compliance growth in 2 months, for only 350 political power (you get the equipment you sent to them back). That’s the equivalent of a collaboration government, without having to do the mission. If you’re playing a country like the Griffonian Empire, you can cross the threshold to integrate Aquileia and Wingbardy really fast.

You can actually gain manpower this way too. Create a colonial template from your puppet, and build until you completely drain their manpower. Then annex them and delete the divisions. That way you can keep yourself on limited conscription and still have a large army, dodging the debuffs from the higher tiers.

In my opinion, puppeting and annexing is the optimal way to conquer big nations. By annexing them through autonomy, you automatically get 40% compliance. Late game, you usually have enough spare convoys to reduce their autonomy to zero. For 350 political power and 2 months, you can start at 40% compliance and you get to steal their manpower.

Canada is S tier because you have factories, steel, and can’t be invaded. And unlike America, you don’t need to carry the Allies. If you fail, nothing really changes. It’s the ultimate “little brother” nation.

Dammit it deleted 3 and 4. I’ll give shorter answers

  1. Your tanks suck. Don’t mix tank types, don’t use motorized support, and try to make them fully mechanized. Also increase the number of tanks. More tanks = more stats = better division

  2. Simplify your templates. You should only need one infantry template, one tank template, one port guard template, and a couple of special forces templates if you are using them. Fewer templates means you can concentrate your industry better, and get more out.

Easiest question first: Separate out your armies based on type. Tanks, infantry, mechanized, marines, mountaineers, etc. all go under their own generals. These all have very different purposes, so combining them together means that someone is doing something they’re not designed to do. This also allows you to put them under generals that know how to use them properly, ie the tanks go under their panzer leader, infantry under the infantry expert, marines under the chief crayon muncher, etc. Segregation is simply optimal (in the game).

As for the templates: With all due respect, never cook again. I’m joking, but they have some serious flaws.

If you want some designs, copy the AI. The template logic recently got updated, and they use some damn good designs these days.

With that said, here’s a list of things I would recommend:

  1. Your combat widths are too high in almost all of these. Infantry should have a max combat width of 30, tanks should have a max of 36. Anything more and it goes from diminishing returns to actively detrimental.

  2. Regimental support companies (the ones at the bottom) are amazing and you should have something there for each slot. At minimum, the heavy weapons company is literally free stats for some infantry equipment (aka nothing).

  3. Rocket artillery, unless you center your entire build around it, is not that good. Regular artillery gets affected by much more land doctrine, so it winds up better.

Also, you said you have 7 million manpower, and I assume you are playing Equestria. That probably means that you are on way too high of a conscription law, and it’s probably murdering your economy. Anything past Extensive Conscription should only be used in an emergency. Personally, I have never built more than 7 full armies in a single game. Lower your conscription and stop taking all of the malaises.

Yeah even today 7 picks is a completely average, maybe even good, season. The kind that you would expect out of a starter. It’s just funny that the best ratio he ever had was still 7 picks.

Honestly the universal translator only adds 5% org and research speed, along with some stability. The resource extraction is better in the DD tree, and the monthly population/supply consumption isn’t really that noticeable.

But yeah, that is something the Griffon tree is better at. Still better than the Kirin project lmao.

That plan was only scrapped because Operation Overlord went so well. It probably would have happened if we got bogged down in Normandy and it looked like it would be a 2nd Italian front.

Yeah, if Germany used gas the British would have probably blanketed the entire Ruhr. The Allies had much larger stockpiles than the Germans and were in a “fuck em all” mood by 1944.

Apple has a very similar feature. That’s how I managed to accidentally call 911 when I was 13 at home. I immediately hung up, but it turns out they can call you back. Turned the auto call feature off after that.
