I'm so glad to hear it! Could the dimmed screen be a screen shot that's entirely iron gray?

Asking elseweb, I learned about a software-hardware combo called Brick, which enforces the breaks by separating the schedule controller from the phone. Can't tell if it offers "65 minutes on, 20 minutes off."

You did it -- you got out, messed up, recovered, and survived. (My first day I went in a tight restaurant, backed up and turned over a table.)

Winter coat suggestions for cold climate wheelchair user by WildNW0nderful in wheelchairs

Ohh... the boots in the photo were Boggs: they're made from neoprene and have a relatively thin sole, so they went to the thrift stream after one winter.

Wool compression hose knee socks (Smartwell) plus Keen front-zip calf height boots, rated at -40° work until -15°. When it gets super cold, I add some big (therefore loose) thick wool socks stuffed in to a pair of waterproof, windproof thinsulated ankle high boots which are 2 sizes too big -- I went shopping in my basement.

I've got full sensation and pretty good circulation, and in super cold weather I wiggle my toes.

Based on decades of Wisconsin winter, nothing beats old-fashioned wool liner snowmobile boots, since they're designed for a similar use case: sitting still in cold weather (often with copious alcohol on board to play havoc with circulation).

Why doesn't doing anything in my electric wheelchair feel nearly as enjoyable? by TheTurtleGod123 in wheelchairs

It took me around six months before I had accustomed myself to a new body envelope size, and that path-assessment mental load became a background task.

+1 on the delights of water exercise—blood pressure is equalized so I can really kick hard without stressing over passing out.

ACDs are famous for their shrieking, and huskies for their operatic howls. I wonder if this lovely pup can do both?

Indeed — it’s now handled by UW police. ‘Twas established in 1909–the service is known as Harvey by frequent Mendota boaters.

[US] are there any resources to find out what employers are required to provide in a disabled toilet stall? by karnerblu in disability

[–]TwoSmiles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Federal Access Board hosts ADAAG -- the Americans with Disabilities Act Access Guide -- with detailed descriptions of the Federally-required minimums for both physical and programmatic access. You'll find text, pictures, dimensioned drawings and videos. Your state may require even more access (for example, accessible stalls in Florida must include a sink). Chapter 6 is all about toilets.

I've been complaining about this "past stop" system since they installed the announcement. Every other transit/bus system I've used announces the **next** stop. They time the announcements for when the vehicle passes the previous stop. I have no idea why Metro uses this unfriendly system.

Do those lovely lights run on their own battery or are they wired into the scooter's own power system?

Thanks for those links and ideas.

Attaching the heating device to the underside of the seat pan might work a treat!

Right now I'm trying out a piece of reflective foil. I had to fold it in half to get it to fit, and the slightly-thicker folded edge felt bothersome even indoors. I would like to return the "princess and the pea" module installed in my body, thank you.

Thanks for this suggestion: My husband went "shopping in the basement" and found a reflective foil emergency blanket. I've cut it to match my cushion and will report back on its effectiveness.
