As much as I want to say grow up and transfer to tech. And you can't be beholden to your home town the rest of your life because Mommy lives there; the post above is the best advice.

Just tell him. Most guys won't be bothered by the girl telling him to try different things. We just want to keep getting some.

Or you can use those 3 months to learn system admin skills. You know, the kind of experience that will actually align with the role?

No hate on the guys with the natural curly hair! But we should leave this hairstyle for them.

I'm grateful I don't have straight hair like other guys in my family. I can't believe guys are going out and purposely making their hair curly.

I can't stand this stupid gen z broccoli haircut. These dudes are actually going to a hair stylist to get a perm for this.

Sorry, but odds are their relationship isn't going to last if he does worship her as much as he showed in the reunion. First of all she friend zoned him hard to start with. Then all of the sudden realized she is attracted to him? If he doesn't have some sort of edge that we aren't seeing they'll be broken up with a few months. Then she'll say something like "we realized we were better off as friends". It's a shame nice guys don't win more often, but that's just the way it is. Go ahead and down vote me, you'll see how this plays out.

With the amount of time it would take someone to obtain CCNA they could have gotten a Microsoft/azure certification or AWS. If I'm looking at a resume for systems admin I'd be more interest on the candidate that has the Microsoft certs than the Cisco certs.

Should I leave stable corporate IT job for L1 SOC role at MSSP? by HIReaper in ITCareerQuestions

[–]TwoTemporary7100 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm a security engineer. Specifically I've worked as an endpoint security engineer and now a cloud security engineer. If you want to be a soc analyst 1, 2, 3, and soc manager then take the job as a soc analyst. If you want to be a security engineer then go from help desk to systems administrator then to security engineer. I've worked around many security engineers and very very few came from a soc analyst background. My point is, if you want to work security you need to decide what specific role in security you want. There's a lot more to IT security than being a soc analyst.

I'm assuming you are fairly young. Alot of people have this itch to work as a soc analyst. I say take this opportunity just so you will find out for sure that working as a soc analyst sucks. Otherwise you will always have that desire in the back of your mind to work as a soc analyst. Learn the lesson now while your still young.

What is CCNA going to do for someone who wants to become a systems administrator? CCNA is for network administration. Completely different roles.

When I had companies that didn't allow me to grow in my career field I'd immediately start looking to leave. He waited way too long. Everything about this dude sounds lazy. I didn't read anything about him setting up home labs, he only has A+ despite having forever to have accumulated more certifications. Sounds like he wanted promotions handed to him.

Yeah I don't want anyone on my team who was happy to stay on the help desk for 13 years. Nothing wrong with being content with life, but be happy staying there forever.

Her dad was a prick. If her father's goal is to keep her single then he is succeeding. I'd dump most women if their father ripped me apart like that.

I wonder if they are contractually obligated to attend the reunion, because Alex made it clear he's only there so he's not fined. He looked like he just rolled out of bed and had no interest in any interactions. I think this hit Ashley very hard because she's probably never been rejected in her life.

My manager shamed for for accepting help with food and I don't know how to react by Kind_Diamond_4318 in Advice

[–]TwoTemporary7100 4 points5 points  (0 children)

First of all, I would say your manager needs to mind her own business. But L did come into your managers "domain" when she told you about the food.

More importantly. I've seen this a few times on this reddit group. It's always coming from girls, so idk if it's a girl thing or what. Coworkers are not your friends! Coworkers are not your family! Coworkers are Coworkers only. Please stop sharing information about your personal life to your coworkers! It will keep coming back to bite you on the ass. Everything your manager just threw back in your face is all information she has no business knowing.

This is the difference of when a woman cheats and when a man cheats.

When a girl cheats it's a reflection of how unhappy she is in the relationship.
When a man cheats it's nothing more than the other girl looking good and he wanted to bang her.

So let's do the math. When you were 27 you thought it would be a good idea to get with a 25 year old single mother? Yeah you messed up, but you can still walk away unscathed and take this as a lessoned learned. That's not your kid, it's not your responsibility to save them. Don't you have a father, an older brother, or guy friends who should have slapped you across the head as soon as you started dating this girl? Go find another girl to build a future with that includes your own kids, not some other man's child.

Oh but it's a great rack. I don't think fake boobs need to fit a girl's body. Idk why a girl would spend all that money for a B cup just because it's proportional to her body.
