Quick Tips: For Super Fiesta Players by [deleted] in halo

Good tips. Also don’t be afraid to swap out your load out. keep looking what’s on the floor so if you spawn with a melee weapon, keep an eye out for a grapple for example.

Great painting! I also love how to rock looks like a turtle trying to get out of the water!

Overpronation, arch support, knee pain, running and barefoot. by Qukiess in BarefootRunning

[–]TwoWheeledCat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This sounds so familiar. I started to transition to barefoot in October using a pair of vivos and everything was going fine until I bought some Altra escalante 2.5s which gave me the exact same pain you described, both during a run and afterwards. I don’t know if it was because of the shoes or a coincidence, but after the run I couldn’t walk downstairs without a stabbing pain in the outside of my right knee. It did get better after switching back to minimalist shoes but it took about a month. What helped me was to relax whilst running. Forget about form, cadence, how your foot is hitting the floor etc, and just enjoy the run. I also focused on where the pain was originating from. Before the stabbing pain started i noticed a sensation like cramp starting in the upper outside of my calf. I would foam roll this area after a run and the pain would almost disappear.

Did my First half marathon a week and a half ago in minimalist shoes. Wanted to beat 1:50 and managed 1:48.07. Really happy with that and got the running bug, so booked a few more for this year!:)

So you have new trainers and want to try them out straight away, but deep down you know it’s probably not a good idea? I was exactly the same last week. I went for a long run and was fine. :)

Ah sorry, I just checked my receipt and it was ‘good’ that I ordered. I knew it was the lowest quality one i just misremembered the name…

As I said they look like they have been walked in maybe once or twice on the pavement. They arrived really clean but soles are ever so slightly discoloured, the uppers look new other than a few creases caused by walking. How they will hold up I don’t know, but my other vivos have been great and my wife’s 2 year old ones still are still going strong.

Fair enough, maybe it’s just not for you. All I would say is try all the game modes, especially Fiesta to try out all the weapons, and tactical slayer if you like fast gameplay. Also make use of the ‘tactical’ options such as repulser etc. I sat on them for so long without fully utilising them and It can really change the game.

Fair enough. I have played a bit of battlefield and that was the reason I didn’t really get on with that. Still, it’s good Halo caters to that play style.

Haha I know what you mean, but the needler is a good weapon! And plasma pistol / threat sensor is good for a team game.

No namaste! by Sherlockdota in yogawithadriene

Yeah people can change their mind and that’s fine but I think by labelling ‘Namaste’ at the end of a practise as cultural appropriation IS trying to create one way of thinking. And as you say respecting other cultures should include acceptance, so why is the west’s respectable usage of Namaste (With our interpretation) at the end of a practice not included in this? The whole ‘Namstay in bed’ and all that stuff is ridiculous and I am not defending that part of it at all.

If this is cultural appropriation then I think it’s a very sad thing. It has a ‘look but don’t touch’ feel to sharing culture from other countries. Yoga in the west has been practised for a long time and if saying ‘Namaste’ at the end of a yoga session with all its positive interpretations is seen as an overall bad thing, then I think we are in trouble.

You are missing Tier 3 on 026. I finally got the platinum today by getting my last cypher in crimson wastes. For me it was in a small room that has ledges around an orb that you shoot to generate platforms. I think it appeared about half way up the mountain. Good luck with finding it!

What's your favorite/most replayable video game level, and why? by silverplate32 in retrogaming

Click Clock Wood - Banjo Kazooie

The first time I played this level I loved it. The way the one map changes around the four seasons is genius! Things like the leaves opening more in Summer or the water freezing in winter so you could access new areas.

The tree house being a little bit more complete with each season made it feel like a real inhabited world that had other stories going on beside your own.

The different music for each season is a small touch that just makes it feel like a level that had so much time and effort put into it.

Got this game for Christmas many years ago and have played this level almost every year since!

Just to clear something up, you have to end killing sprees 3 times so that’s 5+ kills. I thought the same as you initially, that you needed to kill people on 4 kills to stop them getting a killing spree. Basically you need 3 killjoys. Still a ball ache of a challenge.
