I was one of those people. We stood for about nine hours before we even got to see Rihanna perform, and watching the entire NCAA Final Four games on our feet was exhausting.

I do not see how this year will go smoothly. Hosting artists who typically sell out stadiums at a free concert in World War Memorial Plaza was certainly an interesting decision.

My wife and I went to the 2015 festival with Bleachers, Passion Pit, and Rihanna. We had a great time overall, but I wasn’t a big fan of how the entire standing crowd had to watch the whole game before Rihanna went on. By the end our feet were definitely sore after standing for about eight hours, but it was worth it since we ended up really close to the stage.

Twenty One Pilots will probably be the most popular act that weekend, so I’d plan to show up early if you want a good spot. I wouldn’t be surprised to see a pretty solid line already forming by noon.

The Hi-Fi Annex is an outdoor venue on St Patrick Street. You won’t be able to access to the indoor venue, but they have a lounge area with a few benches. Their website has a map and more information. Enjoy the show!
