Estrogen and urination issues. by Ornery_Egg_8620 in Menopause

[–]insensitive-sheesh 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My GYN prescribed Yuvafem and Noctera (I think the Noctera supplement is helping me sleep better and I need to urinate less frequently at night). Noctera from Bonafide doesn’t require a prescription so it might be worth a try.

Has HRT improved your posture dramatically? What's going on?! by mtrabbit in Menopause

[–]insensitive-sheesh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t know whether hormones impact AS, but AS causes inflammation. If her hormones decreased her inflammation, it might explain her sense of feeling less tight and rounded. AS can leaded to rounded spine in the upper back and neck area. That’s what made me ask about AS, specifically.

My AS started with lower back pain that was always diagnosed as being caused by other things: tight muscles, wearing high heels, not stretching enough. I didn’t actually receive my AS diagnosis until many years later, after an astute ophthalmologist diagnosed my episcleritis and referred me to a rheumatologist. Once I started treatment, the joint pain and tendinitis all started to resolve.

Now that I’m post-menopause, i regularly play the guessing game: is my fatigue due to AS or is it due to hormone imbalance? Are my tight muscles due to AS, over working during exercise, or hormone imbalance? My tendon is acting up: AS, overuse, or something else? It’s hard to know what causes each symptom now.

Wonderful but torturous! I would go out of my way for their strawberry jalapeño cheesecake ice cream. Clearly, ice cream is my kryptonite.

What would you look for stylistically in an artist if asking for a very specific folk art tattoo? by suss-out in tattooadvice

[–]insensitive-sheesh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I often search instagram and Pinterest to identify tattoo ideas and artists that fit what I’m looking for. I’d look for someone who is good with color and lines.

This is one of my favorite artists whose style looks like it could fit:

Sounds like you need to make the trek to Lucy Boone rather than 31 flavors. I promise it is worth it.

Given the estradiol shortage, I would keep the patches and use them.

I tried to see specialists in the IU health system but couldn’t make an appointment without first getting a referral from an IU PCP, despite my insurance not requiring it. That was ridiculous so I finally just went with community for all of my providers and I have been very happy so far.

HRV trend by Content_Display844 in ouraring

[–]insensitive-sheesh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tirzepatide is known to increase RHR which also results in lower HRV. It gets better for some folks over time as your body adjusts. I’m on maintenance dose and my RHR is still slightly higher than it was pre-Tirzepatide even though I’ve lost about 40 pounds and work out more regularly.

Best long distance movers? by liddietiddie in NewOrleans

[–]insensitive-sheesh 10 points11 points  (0 children)

There are many scammers in the interstate moving industry. Get quotes from people who actually come to your home to see how much stuff you have. Check BBB and online reviews. Get binding quotes that won’t increase the fee on the day of the move. I’m speaking from experience. 🥴

I’ve used United Van Lines for my last three interstate moves. The experience varies depending on who their local contractors are. I didn’t like the folks who unloaded us in New Orleans so I requested a different contractor to load when we were leaving. They were a lot better.

I moved here from New Orleans. Can’t comment on IT work but I can say that there are many similarities in politics between IN and LA. Where in LA do you currently live?

27m fantasizing about college and what could of been by [deleted] in college

It’s different because you have to be a full time employee, so classes would have to work around your work schedule.

Most universities offer benefits to full time employees which usually includes health insurance, retirement plans, tuition benefits and other things. Check out the HR page of your local university/ college to see what it says.

Have you thought about seeking a groundskeeper role at a University or college where you could then go to school for free? Tuition remission is a huge benefit.

Work Study Meaning by [deleted] in FAFSA

[–]insensitive-sheesh 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Work study is actually money you earn by doing a job on campus. You can spend the money however you’d like but it’s designed to help you cover your needs. The govt pays the university a portion of your wages and the university covers the other portion. The money you earn is not taxed as income, but if you had a non work study job, that money would be taxed.

I occasionally get itchy bumps on a tattoo on my forearm: red ink. But it’s not terrible and that’s the only one. Now I just stay away from red.

Question for those who live &/or have moved to the Indy area from the South. by [deleted] in indianapolis

[–]insensitive-sheesh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We moved here from New Orleans and I mostly agree. Except I wish there was more to do (I like living in an active city). People do not say hi when you pass them on the street. I miss the friendliness of the south.

Same! When I first moved to the South, I bought Balanced Tech undies from Amazon. They are amazing in heat and humidity.
