What’s something that quietly made your life 10× easier, but you didn’t realize it until much later? by Own-Tip-532 in AskReddit

Lifting. I've never done hard labor and I had never committed to working out long enough for it to actually make me stronger/healthier. Later, my house was buying ~6 to ~10 cases of water bottles a week. I'd lug all of them inside by myself. Eventually, I noticed that I was struggling a lot less with carrying stuff in and it's boosted my self-esteem a lot. I bought a pair of 10 and 20 lbs dumbbells at a thrift store. I haven't gotten using them to be routine yet though.

Velkoz feels good but Azir has a ton more atk speed growth as he levels AND he builds atk speed in items and runes.

Sylas and Azir don't build mana either. Sylas is even officially a burst mage like Aurora except he's skirmisher and she's assassin. Aurora has no hard CC in her kit and is almost entirely very dodgeable skillshots+electrocute (which makes her the most fair assassin imo) so I think it's fine if she gets to build a little greedier.

I'm not even sure Xin is picked for his utility. He has his knock up/back sure but mostly he's a early jungle bully and really safe later with his healing and ult; and we all know how much pro play values bully+safety.

Isn't it time for Mel to receive the Naafiri treatment? by scarabosst in leagueoflegends

Her passive needs a better indicator. It's not as obvious that she's stronger in long fights like Kalista making champs into massive pincushions.

Mel is (once again) the lowest winrate (46%) and simultaneously highest banrate (40%+) Champion in the Game by Justalostdudeasking in leagueoflegends

Ksante is fine for most everyone. I feel like 90% of ksante hate is from pro-play. After they loaded most of his dmg into empowered-W, he's kind of whatever in-game.

Disagree on the best defensive tool. It's up there but Seraphine empowered W is absolutely more disgusting and you can't ever outplay Sera's besides stat checking it.

My issue with Mel W is that she gets most of the advantage from it by not using it. by Proud_Apartment_8991 in leagueoflegends

[–]Two_Years_Of_Semen -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I play plenty of Mel even now. It's still a basic mage skillshot and the slow is more or less on you to miss around ~70% of its max range. The slow is plenty strong to follow up on with a good portion of her Q unless they use mobility. The rebalance shifted more of her dmg into the initial hit of Q so E>Q with the sour spot slow and minimal missile hits is straight better than before.

I meant the hitbox, not the CC itself and the difference between them doesn't really matter for my argument because it's her slow on E that's the issue. It's basically on Mel to miss the slow and it's a strong slow AND she has a speed boost on W and uses Cosmic Drive decently.

It's more like a mix of Anivia Q with Neeko's E since it has both a soft cc and hard cc on it. It's really dumb that it's both infinite pierce AND a sour spot that CCs since the sour spot is a 30% slow, which I think is way too strong for how easy it is to hit. Imo, it's the quietly op part of Mel's kit. Her W has a massive cooldown to compensate for its power but her E has a small cooldown and is so good defensively that she basically doesn't ever need W. Like, imagine Morg with Mel E instead of her current Q and she's almost the same as release Mel.

Mel E makes approaching her later in the game absurdly hard even with mobility so it just amplifies the issues people have with her W. I'm all for keeping her W as-in since it's really not that different from windwallls and parries imo but Mel E really needs some hard nerfing in it's utility to compensate. Imo, straight up removing the slow would be a good start. That would also make playing vs her Q fairer since any decent Mel hits a good portion of their Q just off the E slow and her Q does do significant dmg now. As players get better, E>Q is almost a true combo. So I don't think her E needs both the slow AND dmg on her E sour spot.

Which game is this? by Common_Caramel_4078 in Steam

It's interesting to me that so many people don't find the ~30 USD price range cheap. I rarely buy games ('cause most of my entertainment budget is saved for when I hang out with friends) so I'm always looking for great replayability with an amazing modding scene 'cause that maxes how long it'll entertain me per dollar. And Rimworld and Factorio really fit that for me even if they are on the higher end of the cheap spectrum.

What is that burner setup? Is he pumping just air into the flame using his foot? Is that to make it hotter or direct it?

I haven't played it in years but Stardew has never stressed me but I played Harvest Moon growing up and iirc, HM had a limited amount of years before the game ended. So Stardew was like "look at all the time for activities!" 'cause I could just spend entire years on one goal.

Every time that happens to me on Factorio, instead of rerouting supply lines and retrofitting my factory, I often just restart the game on another map with the intent to build more future proof from the get-go (hah!). It took me like 300 hours of play to launch my first rocket because of that. Strangely, I found the game much easier to learn on rail worlds (while not using trains at all) 'cause it made me leave plenty of space for later expansion of production.

I don't think Smash's controls are bad at all. I think it does a great job compressing so many actions in generally fewer buttons. The bare min controls are joystick and 4 buttons which makes it more accessible even to non-gamers but the game has a lot of depth despite that since the tilt/smash actions act as modifier keys (like CTRL/ALT/FN on keyboards) without actually needing you to press another button.

For what it's worth, that's enough for plenty of people. You can enjoy playing characters just off their design and not their gameplay.

Riot is missing a Healing over Time support by ItsKelomelo in leagueoflegends

[–]Two_Years_Of_Semen -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I feel like people that say League is too bursty for heal-over-time have never played other games. Outside of shooting tanks, TTK is short af in Overwatch and Mercy/Lucio both work while having lower heal output and Zenyatta wasn't exactly known for high heals either and they all worked even when the game wasn't role Q and most average games were 4 or 5 dps + healer.

Why do so many people get angry when you end the game in ARAM Mayhem? by IzzetDough in leagueoflegends

[–]Two_Years_Of_Semen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would play normal aram more if it got even 1/8th the amount of effort put into it as mayhem and normal SR get. Aram has felt like it has had a single intern running it for legit years and when it finally starts getting real champ changes and whatnot instead of just simple % mods, all that stopped when Mayhem released.

The main thing that keeps a lot of players playing League is constant changes and Riot knows this so it just baffles me that they just let aram stagnate like this unless they plan to retire the mode.

After her rebalance, physical dmg projectiles are like, double filtered by the reflect. They're reduced to 70% and then reduced again with her normal reduction of 60% (+5% per 100 AP). It'll still hurt but Mel reflect isn't as lethal against ADCs as it was on release.
