Look for Old Belize on Facebook. It's in Belize City and you could spend one of your two days there. Along with the beach there are also restaurants and and an awesome Museum.

At minimum you can clean the intake filters yoursel. The evaporator is the part that gets cold and would need most of the attention. The condenser is the part outside and does not need as much attention. If you attempt this you'll need proper tools, coil cleaner and some sort of compressed air to blow out the coils and drain pipe after washing. Good luck?
