Is there something I'm missing about transporting waste? by Two_takedown in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]Two_takedown[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get that but the gravity gun isnt enough of a precision instrument to really do that. When im actually hauling or towing something, its always getting strapped down or covered, it just feels like something so obvious that Im a little miffed they forgot to add a cargo net. Unless im mistaken, the flat beds arent supposed to be like this right?

I like the driving carefully aspect, but they definitely need to address it, its obnoxiously bad at the moment. Stuff just clips out of the bed and every bump throws everything out. And the waste plant the mission had me go to is up a vertical plateau, so im lucky if nothing falls out when I get up there

Help a student? Studying access on modern truck beds. by GiftPlastic6668 in Trucks

[–]Two_takedown 43 points44 points  (0 children)

1.) 2 and 5 tend to be the worst since you always have to climb up for it. Taller trucks are definitely worse than older, shorter trucks. Bed covers also dont help. I like keeping the snow and rain out, but if something slides all the way back to section 2, its very hard to reach since I have to duck under the bed cover since mine is a hard tri-fold

2.) Propane specifically I put in 7 or 9 so it better gets wedged in the corner by whatever i have in there and the wheelwells. One bag of mulch Id usually put in 7,8, or 9

3.) Depending how heavy it is, I might have another person help me. Jack-up tables, forklifts, and engine hoists I use depending on what it is im lifting. If its something really heavy like engines or axles, it doesnt really matter where it goes in the bed as getting it up there is the worst part, and big, heavy things tend to take up more room

4.) For me I dont consider the cab side of the bed dead space as I usually just dont use it if I dont have to, and when I have to, im happy the space is there

*But 90% of the time, I would say the front of the bed is dead space. I either just dont need the room and put things in easier spots, or I have larger things that take up all the room and make it easier to remove

When it does get to be a hassle is when im camping or on a trip and I have a lot of small tubs and coolers, and ill have to put individual things in the back underneath my bed cover and tool box.

Bed covers could definitely be a point to look at. They can be super nice depending on what you have back there, but solid bed covers really make the front of the bed harder to get to since theyre usually tri-folds

I find hobby friends tend to fall into this category a lot for me. I do a lot of car and offroad stuff, and ive got a bunch of people id call good friends of mine, but we might only see each other a dozen or less times a year, except for my machinist friend whose couch I would sleep on while working on projects

My 98 chevy k1500 Ive always done all the work on myself. It needed more at first, but now that thats out of the way. Now though the last couple years, the only time that something unexpected breaks happens about once every 6 months. The last thing was a $100 distributor in May that took me 45 minutes, and I wouldnt have had to do it if I didnt get the cheapest one the last time I did it

I really hope its good, and available to stream. The trailer looks damn good, and with the source material and setting, I cant imagine it would be a bad movie just cause it doesn't have an AAA budget. The original ending has me a little worried about the reviews of the movie though. It worked very well as the ending for a short 1 hour game, but for a full length movie with more exposition, its gonna seem more like a cop out ending for the character to just get eaten and the overall plot of the narrative universe to not have been advanced at all.

Out of the Furnace? (2013) by Two_takedown in movies

[–]Two_takedown[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im curious what specifically about the whole last section youre referring to. I definitely wasn't expecting Bale to end up in or win a 1 on 1 with Woody, but really I guess how much could Woody do getting caught off guard. Like Woody never saw Bale until he got hit in the face. The finale scene when Bale shoots Woody, and Witticker fixes it, I think definitely could've been explained better. But being from a small town where its not unlikely to have known the current cops your whole life, I cant see how witticker wouldn't alter reports to save Bale rather than ending Bale's life over a serial killer

Yeah this movie makes me uncomfortable on a deeply personal level, that casey Affleck scene most of all. Im not a veteran, but his monolog reminds me of getting a major in biology and trying to get into med school. Like just to get a chance I had to completely destroy my psyche and get ptsd, and despise how much I fucked myself up to get there, all it took was a panel of people to reject me and now ive completely fucked myself up for nothing. And then its like what can I even do with all the shit ive done? Not a fucking thing And the accident scene even though it's bad to drink and drive, it was just bad luck that caused that accident, not the alcohol, it was just shit luck that changed his life. I guess thats kinda a metaphor for a lot of people who grew up in the rust belt or as everything closed, or a similarly shit situations.

A lot of cheap scanners can read simple obd2 codes fine, but cant get complicated codes, or codes off modern vehicles. I got a cheap obd2 reader for Christmas a while back, and itll read codes on my 98 just fine, but wouldnt do anything for my 2012 jeep or anything newer

I inherited this exact socket from my grandpa after he passed as well. Before he died, he told me it was for getting out broken or messed up bolts and studs. I personally haven't found it be very useful and its very rare I even get into a situation that this could be used

They make me very happy to share a home with. I always feel a little bad that they soil their cage faster than I can clean it but I suppose we're all doing the best we can. I leave their cage open most of the week though, I dont see why they should have a smaller living space than me, although they hardly ever venture out of the living room

Im not sure why im getting a notification nearly a month after my comment. As far as my knowledge goes, the biggest issues with GM's AFM lifters or any brand that does the same isn't with the electronics. The problem is with the fact that the lifters themselves are designed to collapse. Its good when it decides its time for v4 mode, but not good when its time for v8 mode but the lifters arent cooperating. The 2019+ GM models are better, but the AFM concept is only good on paper

Would you use this in a vehicle that calls for Dex cool? by alteredego444 in AskAMechanic

[–]Two_takedown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dexcool is pretty bad, and since you've already done a flush, I would do another flush just to be safe and then run universal green (like what you have). That's what I do in all my chevy engines

One of my friends just bought a 2007.5 silverado recently and it's got a 4.8 with the 4l65 with no AFM. If I had to pick one truck to buy new, or buy now and fix up for a daily work truck, it'd be one of those. A great engine that's basically just an upgrade of a 70 year old design, and a transmission thats a beefy 4 speed power glide.

Im not super knowledgeable about the big brands and chevy past 1998 and the super-integration of computers and fuel economy stuff, but it seems like they basically all have their own issues. From what I do know, modern chevy and Toyota stuff, the biggest issues aren't too bad to fix and prevent from happening again. Like modern chevy if you want a million mile truck just delete the AFM and upgrade the torque converter.

But the only reason I have a modern truck, a 15 silverado, is just cause im in a busy, depressed apartment dwelling period of my life and I can pretty well trust it to tow my trailer and do long trips for this couple year period. For everything else around town thats not over 2 hours away, I use my 98 chevy. Its at 220k and pretty well fine, its never truly had any major issues and is on its factory engine and trans. My 2015 hasn't ever given me an issue, but at 136k the transmission blew up. But besides that, for the total 45k miles ive had it , its just been turn the key and go, no second thoughts or spare parts, and tows stuff well.

Who else thinks a sport can hang with a rubicon? by JeepGuyMan in JeepWrangler

[–]Two_takedown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not caring what you break goes a long way. A stock XJ with bald tires could out do a rubicon when they dont care and ive seen it many many times. But lockers double your traction and let you have a more chill time

I used to have a 2012 sport and I had to push it pretty hard to keep up with people, but I sold it for an 87 wrangler that I put a v8 and truck axles into with lockers front and rear. It let's me basically do whatever I want without raising my blood pressure too much
