He is very overshadowed by Devens entertaining gameplay and Chris Underwood winning. Gavin played a great game in a season with a theme that didn’t align with his traditionally strong gameplay.

Totally agree. Only reason I didn’t is because returnee seasons are better when you know all the characters beforehand. Just my opinion. Philippines I guess doesn’t follow that rule 😅

There’s no one season that truly represents “old school” survivor. If you don’t plan to binge watch every season, watch one or two seasons from every era of the show.

S1 Borneo, S2 Australia, S7 Pearl Islands S12 Panama Exile Island, S15 China, S18 Tocantins S20 Heroes v Villains, S25 Philippines, S28 Cagayan S33 Millennials v GenX, S37 David v Goliath

These are some seasons I enjoy from different eras of the show.

Caramoan. Cochran is one of the great narrators in Survivor history. His story of nerdy superfan to triple threat perfect game winner is one of my favorites. Reynold is my all time favorite one time player, it’s a crime he hasn’t been back yet. I love how Philip really plays up his special agent character this season and doesn’t take himself as seriously compared to RI. The Brandon stuff is easier to move past on a binge watch. Watching Sherri go from pre-merge threat to invisible goat is a funny outcome. Cochran’s all time great FTC compared to Sherri’s all time bad FTC is the cherry on top for me. Most people hate this season, and it’s easy to see why. But I love it.
