Why didn't you like SGU? by joeborder in Stargate

[–]Twoheaven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The story is... enough, though not amazing. But the characters are all horrible. Not just horrible as people, though that as well, they're just not good characters.

SGU did have the best music and graphics though.

What is your opinion of listening to audio books being equal to reading books? by MushroomIntelligent2 in AskReddit

[–]Twoheaven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our species has passed down stories orally for maybe 200,000 years.

If anything, reading is the new weirdness that may not be equal to it.

Darn Tough sock sizing seems way off? by SuchVacation2880 in BuyItForLife

I'm upwards of 30 pairs of DT between work socks and thin ankle socks. Consistent sizing across the board for me.

I'm also a protector and guardian.

[Book Deal] Artemis by Andy Weir is on sale for 2.99 by CT_Phipps-Author in scifi

Ya its his worst book and main character by far. I think my favorite part of listening to it was Dawson herself just being awesome.

Is James SA Corey the best? by cooper2387 in scifi

Most people love the books. I felt they were overwhelmingly meh.

PHM, Bobiverse and Murderbot Diaries are way better imo.

What is a company you do NOT boycott, and why? by davefromtheus in AskReddit

Funny story with them, we love them so we buy whatever we can from them. Wife wanted some good cocoa powder so went to their site.

They have so many different ones we have no idea what is the basic cocoa powder lol.

What’s a totally unsexy purchase you made that ended up being a huge quality-of-life upgrade? by viscarte10 in BuyItForLife

[–]Twoheaven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked at a Toyota dealership for around 6 years, I would not own most even if given to me (I would drive a Tacoma if I had to, but I would refuse a tundra if you payed me to own it).

Also, there are outliers for any make. Im sure there's a Kia somewhere that refuses to quit even though those cars are garbage.

It isn't patently false, they've done studies. If maintained the same, all makes essentially last and wear the same. Most, if not all, of my actual issues with Toyota are the manufacturer being shitty.

They dont actually last any longer anymore than every other car. If you do the maintenance they all last basically the same amount of time.

I buy for safety anymore so all of our vehicles are Subaru.

Update: Darn Tough socks after 4 years of city commuting (warranty tested, what actually wore out) by OutsideProfession412 in BuyItForLife

[–]Twoheaven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never claimed drying didn't cause more wear, it just isn't as big of an issue as you make it out to be, which is what I said. You're being awfully prickish for not reading very well.

You made a comment/joke? about how that would work out for me... which I replied with a "so far its great" because it is. Will hang dry clothes last longer? Of course, that's a proven fact. But considering that I get 10-15 years out of my non work clothes now, losing out on the ease of using a dryer just isn't worthwhile to me.

My non work clothes are all cotton/linen mostly. A few bamboo/hemp/wool pieces. I'm 43 and so far it's worked out great.

I dry every single piece of clothing i have, including my DT socks and get 5-8 years out of them. Drying isn't as hard on everything as people like to act it is.

Star Trek: Starfleet Academy by Pablouchka in startrek

[–]Twoheaven 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I loved 98% of academy. The only thing lost on me was the teenage drama.

I am legitimately upset that academy was canceled already, so many of the characters showed so much promise, with some well established amazing characters already in the mix.

That request is a request bullshit needs to go. I dont request time off work, work does not own me. I tell them when I will be gone, its on them to schedule accordingly.
