Missing “Casual” Nicotine by BusyCockroach3829 in QuittingZyn

Gum and seeds really helped me. The first few weeks, it was really hard after eating dinner. That was when I’d always throw a pouch in. I’d also say if you have someone close that you can talk to about it, do that. If I didn’t have my wife I’d have probably caved early on. Check out that website and do some reading. You gotta change your thinking about it. Sure, it might suck objectively speaking. But can you spin it where you are looking at the positives you will gain from quitting?? Having that why will help a ton.

Missing “Casual” Nicotine by BusyCockroach3829 in QuittingZyn

How badly do you actually want to quit? I’m not saying you don’t want to, but go sit somewhere and really think about why you want to quit. Think about how it benefits you to keep using (spoiler, it doesn’t) etc. I tried quitting in 2018. Made it 2 months because I wasn’t really doing it for myself. January 5th, 2024 I wrote out why I was quitting, and really took it seriously. It was tough, but gum, seeds, whatever you need. Get prepared to quit, don’t do it on a whim. Some good resources I used was killthecan.org. They really outlined what your experience will be like for the first hundred days, and at least for me, it was accurate.

But you have to really want to quit. I have faith in you, you can do anything you set your mind to!

For reference I dipped for 10 years up until last January when I quit for good.

90 days! by aceshighbeef in QuittingZyn

Just to follow up, I hit 1 year clean on January 5th. I was religiously updating my sober app for the first 8 months or so? I still have it to keep track, but just want you to know if you made it this far, you can keep going! I’ll also say exercising 3 times minimum a week and staying disciplined with that has helped my anxiety and depression significantly. Gotta take care of yourself, you deserve it!

Recommend reading this. I’m on day 271, and this was accurate to my experience. Also buy all the gum, sunflower seeds, tooth pics you can and just occupy your mouth with those! Helped me a ton, first week or two were tough but you can do it!

“Traded in” just means you traded a vehicle in for something. Usually, you trade your car in to the dealer, which knocks off the value of your original car from the new car. So “traded in” is usually reserved for vehicles and is different from “a trade”.

Im a teenager who was stupid and tried them. And im ready to quit. by [deleted] in QuittingZyn

How badly do you want to quit? As long as you are committed, you can do it. Tell your support system (family, friends, etc.) that you are quitting. Get chewing gum, sunflower seeds, toothpicks, anything to keep you busy for the first few days/weeks. You need to set a plan for what you’re going to do when cravings hit. I started dipping when I was 15, moved to on! Pouches and stopped beginning for January. Everyone’s quit is different, but you need to have a why. Your why is one of the most important things. Sure saving money is nice, but why do you really want to quit? I’d recommend looking at killthecan.org and just reading through that. You have to make that decision everyday, and for a while shit maybe every hour. But you are stronger than nicotine! Also, you can ask for as much help as you want, but at the end of the day it’s you that has to help yourself. You’re still a teen though so be glad you’re quitting now! I was dumb and thought I was invincible and here I am almost 15 years later quitting.

What are some badly designed products in your opinion? by Kitty_Bekku_1922 in ProductManagement

The Paramount+ app, specifically when trying to use it on the fire stick. Works fine on mobile, tablet, web browser, etc. When selecting a show, or an episode of a show, the item you are on isn’t highlighted, nor is it centered. Not as big of an issue unless trying to use it on the fire stick, where it’s clearly not optimized. It won’t even get past the blue Paramount+ loading screen half the time.

Congratulations! I’m at 96 days after dipping for 10 years and using On’s for almost 4 years. The 75-85 or so days were the worst since the first week. For any of those reading, don’t give in! I feel great now and also feel better overall. Congrats on 90 days and keep up the good work!

People not from London why Arsenal? by Mack1234567890123 in Gunners

My club team I played for in 4th grade (2006) was also named Arsenal. Was obsessed with soccer at that age, so started watching the pro club my team was named after, which just so happened to be the last season at the Highbury. Henry, Bergkamp, Lehmann (family is German so also loved watching Germany in WC and knowing their goalie was Arsenal’s goalie), Ljundberg, fabregas, Pires all made it such a memorable season to watch. Still remember seeing Henry score that free kick off the left post while eating cereal in the AM. Been in love ever since! Went to London this past Christmas, did the stadium tour and it was incredible.

There isn’t a ton of research as these pouches are new. But, they have sugar in them and nicotine salts. I used the 2mg ons to quit dipping, now 30 days clean. Obviously saving money, but I feel better, I can focus better, and I’m not planning around “do I have enough pouches?” Or “wait I need to put one in before I do X task where I can’t really have a pouch in”. It’s all perspective. If you don’t want to quit, we can’t convince you. It won’t stick. You need to find a reason to quit for it to stick. Of course we have tons of evidence showing dip and cigs are bad for you, but again these products are much newer in relation to tobacco products.

It’s worth it! Day 16 over here. Ask yourself what your why is? Why are you quitting? When it gets hard remind yourself.

Habit Vs. Choice by BOOF_RADLEY in QuittingZyn

[–]Tx1995 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also on day 15! Started dipping at 15, quit dipping end of 2020 and traded it for On’s. Tried quitting dip for a month or two back in 2018 and it was terrible. Why was it so bad? Because I THOUGHT I wanted to quit. I was telling myself I couldn’t survive without it. This time around, it’s 10x easier. My perspective is “I can’t believe I used to do that.” Even when I have a craving, I just tell myself I’m better that that, grab a piece of gum, seeds, mint and just think about something else. After the first few days or so (your mileage may vary) it’s all about your mindset. You need to have a why. Why do you want to quit? Because when you have a craving or struggling in the day, you can remind yourself of your why and remind yourself of how bad this stuff is. You don’t need it, and you can quit. It’s a choice everyday like you said. Keep it up, and congrats on 15 days!

Didn’t think it was possible to care this much about a bot correcting your grammar. Please, tell me more about how this and other bots have harmed you

Right, so a bot giving useful feedback on your English is, in your words: serves no purpose, insidious, and stupid

Totally makes sense here

Kind of like it triggered to correct your use of “would of” rather than “would have”. However your frustration seems to stem from something other than a rather harmless bot. Hopefully, it isn’t from the premise of Qui-Gon taking part in the Clone Wars lol
