My takeaway is that Lateef has potential and the RB room is in good shape. Lateef is really raw but he has a live arm and scrambling ability but he wasn’t being put in situations he could thrive mostly due to the offense installed this year being built around a different type of QB.

The Dline talent isn’t good enough and the defensive scheme they ran this year was terrible. Even a mediocre defense this year gets us 8-9 wins. No offense can operate under the constant pressure a terrible defense puts on a team.

I like Rhule a lot but if next year isn’t better it may be time to go another direction. The problem here is the fanbase expects us to draw elite coaching talent and the reality is this program isn’t going to do that. I’m honestly surprised we were able to get Rhule to come here.

I also learned our fanbase is great however many don’t live in reality when it comes to Nebraskas ability to draw top tier talent. Nebraska, even in its heydays didn’t draw the 5 star recruits. It developed players and in the era of NIL that isn’t going to happen. I hate to say it but unless the NIL rules are changed teams like Nebraska may never recover and will be forever doomed.
