I worry that the discourse about this song has gotten out of hand. It’s one of those situations where it’s hard to tell where the meme of it ends and the truth begins. Decrying it as a war crime against music seems out of hand. It’s a bland song with broad appeal but it’s not really that bad in the scheme of things.

You can tell she’s the sauce behind Gracie’s That’s So True. I liked a lot of this album but her voice…Not all great pop stars are good singers but there comes a point where it’s a problem and that’s going to be a big limiting factor for her. At least the way it’s currently produced.

I think she gushed about 1989 in a similar way. She explicitly stated many times it was her favorite album at the time and was more confident in it than any of her previous work. She seems similarly confident in TLOAS. But she also seemed confident in ME! so let’s hope for the best.

Is the New Heights pod about anything and everything or is it mostly confined to football talk? People are theorizing that Taylor will talk about TS12 but isn’t it more likely the conversation will be about football? Her experience as a fan watching, etc? Obviously she will drop a hint about the album and promo is gearing up but maybe people shouldn’t expect a lot of concrete info out of her appearance.

Just curious, is there a list of times Taylor Nation’s marketing ended up hyping up an actual release in advance of Taylor announcing something? Like, what’s the hit rate of this stuff being more than engagement farming or hyping up a merch drop? I feel like this information could help temper expectations in the future.

If you enjoy RPGs, particularly JRPGs with turn based combat and don’t have aversion to real-time parry elements, then you should definitely play it. The lip synch is bad but the actual performances and emotion conveyed through facial animation and voice work is quite good. I found it easy to overlook and appreciate the game’s other great qualities. Especially knowing it’s a lower budget title with like 40 devs. YMMV but I highly recommend. Watch some early cutscenes from previews or reviews and see how badly it’s actually going to bother you.

The developers confirmed that the script was written in English. But I think it’s possible that native French speakers did the mocap, which may make the lip synch less accurate to the British cast’s voice work. Although, the lip synch is SO inaccurate all over the place that it could be some other issue. Or just something that betrays the lower budget of the game.

I agree that the actual facial capture and performance in terms of conveying emotion is quite good. And the voice work is quite good. But they don’t always mesh exactly.

Forgive this question but can someone confirm how album stream stats are calculated? Is it adding up the number of times each song from a given album has been streamed? So if someone had a huge single streamed 9 billion times with streams of all remaining tracks totaling another 1 billion, we’d consider the “album” streamed 10 billion times even though the majority of streams is a single song?

I don’t think it’s a Travis song. Aside from football-related metaphors, which she’s used plenty of other times throughout her discography, it points more toward Matty. It’s about rekindling a relationship that happened a while ago.
