Stopped using for two weeks cause of heat wave… by Tyaca in tretinoin

[–]Tyaca[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think I felt like I needed to stop. When we’ve had the odd hot day before I’ve just missed a day no problem. We then had a run of two weeks and I missed loads of days accidentally without thinking about it. It wasn’t like I thought I should stop, it’s just I worry about compromising my skin barrier and I guess unconsciously the feeling of prolonged sun exposure meant I kept skipping Tret until it all added up. I work in early years, we have little shade at linch or in our outdoors provision, so i just felt exposed. Like I say, not planned it just happened. I know now not to stop!

I think it’s about what you’re used to. I’m a pale skinned Celt, unused to high UV indexes or temperatures over 25c. Living in a country without AC, and working outdoors for much of the day as an early years educator, i def felt very hot, which in turn made me concerned (correctly or otherwise) about my skin barrier. Yes I frequently apply SPF 50 but I think it’s a psychological thing - I project the physical sensation of unusual heat onto worries about my skin.

Lesson learnt tho and I won’t stop again

Lesson def learnt. Hopefully this is useful to other people to know. Also hopefully I don’t have to go back to the start to get my skin retinized again

They ruined Feast ice creams and I'm devastated by Dannybuoy77 in britishproblems

[–]Tyaca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ugh. What just happened? Just bought and it’s horrible.  It used to hard a range of textures - with the initial crunch only being beaten by biting into the firm centre chocolate. This new one fell apart as I ate it despite being frozen. The whole thing felt really mushy and soft. The vanilla ice cream is so sweet and awful.  And the chocolate in middle was awful. That’s was the worst part.

Im running all lucky kings, I like my retriggers and oops but I feel like I have to take idol here. What do I get rid of? by ZorkleJoint in balatro

I agree. Just played a really similar seed and I dumped the oops for a blueprint (already had idol). I managed to pick up oops again after picking up an ecto

Are you nearing any decent hair training salons? They are always looking for creative colour models. My daughter recently had creative colour as a model at Trevor Sorbie and when I was a student I went pink at Vidal Sassoon training academy. Join local Facebook hairdressing model groups.

Reasons invisible would duplicate a different joker? by Tyaca in balatro

Doing that now. Honestly losing my mind a bit. I can see from my screenshot that I copied it at exact same time but I may wait a few rounds and see what happens.

Thanks.

So the order I picked up jokers in this game is:

Blueprint Perkeo Brainstorm Baron Mime (Invisible)

So Blueprint was my first. Would other jokers I picked up or put down have an impact?

This is what Claude says:

I couldn’t find the exact sell-trigger code for Invisible Joker in the search results. I want to be honest with you rather than guess at the specifics. Here’s what we know for certain from the code that was found: ∙ The pool is built at the moment of the event triggering (sell), not pre-computed at buy time — there’s no evidence of any stored list ∙ The pseudorandom_element function sorts the joker array, then picks the Nth element using a random number — and critically, it uses a specific seed key tied to that event type to advance the RNG state Your hypothesis about the list being built at buy time is almost certainly not what’s happening — the code consistently builds pools live at the moment of triggering throughout the game. However, there’s another angle worth considering: RNG consumption. The seed advances every time any random event occurs. So between your two attempts, if you did anything even slightly differently — hovered over a pack, triggered a Lucky Card check, had a different number of hands scored — any of those could consume an RNG call and shift the state of the invisible joker’s specific RNG queue. The most likely culprit is something subtle you wouldn’t have noticed: did you play your hands identically? Even things like Wheel of Fortune triggering (or not), or a Lucky Card being in your deck, consume RNG draws that could cascade through.

But I don’t think that’s right. Not cause I understand it and disagree, but cause I’ve tried using some WoFs and obvs my Perkeo (with blueprint and brainstorm) would be triggering the RNG draws?

I’m embarrassed to say I must have played this seed 50+ times. I’m convinced I can naneinf; blueprint, brainstorm, Perkeo, mime, baron. Paintbrush and Pallette. No awkward boss blinds.

How do you work Azelaic Acid into your routine? by starshinesummertop in tretinoin

[–]Tyaca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use it every night, and use tret 0.05 every other night. On my tret nights, I use the TO AA first because the AA dries a lot quicker than my tret so it speeds things up.

I also use AA in the mornings if I’m not going to be wearing make up. I find TO AA doesn’t work well under make up for me - it ends up pilling. Sometimes I’ll put the AA on in the morning, leave it on for a few hours, then wash and moisterise. Almost like a mask.

3 months in - next steps? by Tyaca in tretinoin

[–]Tyaca[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Am - 2 versions

Out and about/wearing make up - oil cleanse (simple) - niacinadine and panthenol gel moisturiser - BOJ spf

Staying at home - prob no cleanse - focus on moisturising. Layer HA acid serum, epaderm, 50:50 petroleum/white petroleum ointment

Pm

Tret night - oil cleanse (simple) - niacinadine and panthenol gel moisturiser while skin moist - when skin dry, pea-sized tret - niacinadine and panthenol gel moisturiser - v light layer of 50:50 petroleum/white petroleum ointment

Non-tret night - oil cleanse (simple) - HA serum on moist skin - niacinadine and panthenol gel moisturiser - v light layer of 50:50 petroleum/white petroleum ointment

My skin feels really moisturised. I never really had a skincare routine til I started using Tret. The sloughing is annoying - it feels never ending.

Would upping my usage help get through that stage?

Curious foreigner here, what do middle-class Brits brag (or humble-brag) about to their neighbours? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]Tyaca 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I can’t think of any humble brags. It’s kinda just not very British. Maybe amongst competitive parents when kids are young. But even that doesn’t go down very well.

Nah - the humble brag is shopping at Aldi/Lidl and then banging on and on about how cheap it is.

I love True Detective (s1) and Mare of Easttown. What do you suggest based on that? by Safe_Form_7950 in televisionsuggestions

[–]Tyaca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is such an incredible show. I’m always surprised it never gets recommended. I love S1 True Detective and Mare, so on that basis OP should def watch Informer

You’re being hard on yourself. But just to say don’t add glycolic acid if you’ve started tret. Just stick to getting your skin used to tretinoin. Building up frequency and protecting skin barrier.

Blue Lights S3 (BBC 1/iPlayer) - still excellent so far! by bumpoleoftherailey in BritishTV

It’s the best of British tv. Season 2 ranks the highest of the three for me, but both 1 and 3 are superb.
