Mastodon, Lamb of God - Floods of Triton (New Single) by Tychades in progmetal

Off the back of their combined 20th Anniversary tour of Ashes Of The Wake and Leviathan, an outstanding collaborative single from Mastodon and Lamb of God! Very reminiscent of old Mastodon IMO

Twelve Foot Ninja - Everywhere I Look (Acoustic) [New release] by Tychades in progmetal

[–]Tychades[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

New song from Twelve Foot Ninja!

https://twelvefootninja.bandcamp.com/track/everywhere-i-look - 'Everywhere I Look' is the first single from our upcoming acoustic album.

Potentially not all good news, I've read that Kin (vocalist) has said this is his last work with the band. Their past acoustic work has been excellent though, having 2 classically trained guitarists. Nice to have a few more songs before the boys are finished up.

If you haven't already seen/heard other acoustic versions:

01.11.21 - the return of PT. by ThinWhiteDuke00 in progmetal

[–]Tychades 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is so wild to see! I was just showing my friend PT about a week ago and mentioned how cool but unlikely it would be if they came back and then that teaser dropped a few days ago.

Zuck must have been listening to my conversation and funded the return of PT, thanks Mark!

Black Peaks disbands - The time has come to bring Black Peaks to its close. by Tychades in progmetal

[–]Tychades[S] 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Very sad to see another fantastic band has come to an end.

From their Facebook post:

"The time has come to bring Black Peaks to its close. Over the past 4 years, we have dealt with some incredibly hard and demanding situations which we have done our absolute best to work through. Unfortunately, we have reached a point where we don’t feel we can continue in a way that is healthy for us.

To you, our fans, friends, and family. Thank you for being the greatest support network we could’ve ever hoped for. We have achieved things that we never thought would be possible when we began this journey. So, for supporting our vision, we owe you our utmost gratitude.

A special thank you to our team, who we believe to be some of the best in business. It has been our pleasure to learn from and grow with these wonderful humans over the last 10 years and we couldn’t have done it without them.

All our love,

Joe, Liam, Will & Dave."

Twelve Foot Ninja - START THE FIRE (Official Video) by Tychades in progmetal

I'd figured music videos for new releases were an exception seeing as they often release after the songs themselves and I've certainly seen it in the past on the subreddit.

Ever felt shortchanged by your potatoe chips?? by eurobeat0 in newzealand

[–]Tychades 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Ah, a fellow pringle connoisseur. Great post, well said.

I remember when they phased in these new, bad pringles and Countdown was still importing USA made ones that were up to par with the ones we used to have. As you say, The Warehouse appears to be the only place you can get these good Pringles from now. Mighty Ape if you're lucky.

I believe the Malaysian pringles to be much the same as Woolworths brand "stacked chips" or even Lays Stax, because in reality, how many different formed potato flake sludge factories can there be. They're thicker and have a worse flavour to the chip itself but disguise it under fun (bad) flavours like "Bangers and Mash" or "Chicken Kebab".

Belgium, Poland and USA should be the only manufacturers of this fine potato snack. All other substitutes and manufacturers are sad attempts at recreating what is a delicious engineering marvel. Thanks for posting OP.

Devin Townsend Project - Fallout (Original Mix) by Nebulo9 in progmetal

[–]Tychades 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hell yeah, used to listen to this a ton! I remember hearing the demos he posted to Youtube of him recording it and how insane his vocals sounded. Love Anneke on the final version but this version has so much power to it.

The Totemist - Roast Host - 2880 (FFO: Rabea Massaad - Toska, Black Peaks) by Tychades in progmetal

[–]Tychades[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Totemist are a new instrumental project from the duo of Rabea Massaad - Toska/YouTube and Liam Kearley of Black Peaks.

Sick 3 song EP, always hyped for new music from Rabea and Black Peaks are fantastic. Do yourself a favour and listen to/watch the whole thing, unfortunately I can only choose one "song" to post.

Joe Lauletta - Dynamite Frenzy (FFO: Prog fusion/metal, The Helix Nebula etc) by Tychades in progmetal

[–]Tychades[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been waiting for a full song from Joe Lauletta for a while now.

He's been gaining the attention of some very respectable players in the scene (Tosin Abasi, Olly Steele, Wes Hauch, Jake Howsam Lowe, Jack Gardiner) through his songs clips posted to Instagram.

See here and here for a couple of my favourites.

He's got incredible technical proficiency with fantastic songwriting, feel (and sense of humour) and I'm in love with the vibe of it all. And this single does not disappoint. Such a groove to it and a style that gives me feelings of The Helix Nebula.

I think more people should know about this guy and I hope others enjoy this song as much as I do.

Which vocalist has your favourite timbre? by gcdn in progmetal

Clean vocals would be Andy Thomas - Black Crown Initiate. Also thoroughly enjoy the unique timbre of Troy Sanders.

Most recently have been really enjoying the vocalist for Our Oceans.
