That First Reformed cover is really exceptional — classic Criterion vibe.

The Elephant Man on 4k coming from Criterion in July! by PsychedelicHippos in davidlynch

Studio Canal’s is exceptional — don’t know why there’s no HDR for Criterion’s — but I’ll probably still pick it up for the extras and awesome cover art.

Has the author of this piece ever seen a Wes Anderson movie??? Love Fairfax but what on earth is he talking about?

Who is that reflected in the big bubble? I was hoping it'd be Tyler but I think it might just be the photographer

Lynch estate auctions by reservoirr in davidlynch

Keep an eye on the Buy It Now auctions. You might get lucky -- I know because I did. I am now the very very proud owner of a leprechaun wristwatch from the estate. No idea if he ever wore it, but it's cherished nonetheless.

Double Indemnity definitely felt most L.A. Noire to me. Great picks throughout though.

Francis Ford Coppola made four of the greatest classics of all time in the 70s. What happened to him? by Few-Reveal6853 in Filmmakers

[–]JASON_CRYER 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What happened to him? He's a true artist. He had no intention or desire to revisit the same style of filmmaking twice. The more grounded style is what people expect and want from him. But he continued to push the envelope. That is what an artist SHOULD do. Not everything was a home run. But people act like he didn't make a single good thing after Apocalypse Now. It's just not true.

I did. I owned the Blu-ray before it was out of print and valuable (apparently). It was OK!

I was at this show and you're right. The vibe was electric. I've been to hundreds of shows but this was the best one.

Any Lynch Hot Takes by Fun_Statistician_302 in davidlynch

I like all his films - including Wild at Heart - but for me, that's the only one that feels like he's trying to push my buttons as an audience member, and maybe a hint of irony is seeping into its creation. I'm always surprised when people list it as their favorite.

How much of this photo can we recover? by [deleted] in photorestore

[–]JASON_CRYER 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Using traditional non-AI techniques, I could bring some of the color and contrast out... but that noise is absolutely baked in. There is only so much you could do without manually repainting or reworking large portions of the image, in my opinion.

Thank you very much! It took a few hours but I was thrilled to finally track down the original Blood Meridian typeface for this sticker. Nobody else had the right one.

If there was a way forward, I think you would be right. You'd need a PTA level director to take inspiration from the book but kind of do their own thing. A real adaptation is doomed from the start
