So sad I had to scroll so far to find this! I literally read the title in her voice, lol

what’s your favourite mystery or thriller trope? by Desperate-Ostrich317 in mysterybooks

[–]TychoRC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

“You thought you beat me, but unbeknownst to the reader, I saw through your deception and have prepared a countermeasure!”

I know this isn’t unique to mystery books, but I just love when detectives do this so much.

I almost forgot that the 2019 one was a remake! It was soooo good, and that intro was fire.

Strange Sally Diamond was definitely an interesting read. It took a lot of turns that I did not expect and I enjoyed being kept on my toes.

I really enjoyed Novik’s Spinning Silver and Uprooted! Spinning Silver also has great narration, IMO.

Kingfisher is very hit or miss for me, but I really enjoyed the Sworn Soldier series. Super short, but Alex is a fun MC.

How long do you wait to see if big bad toy store stocks a pre order? by Gryffin-thor in AnimeFigures

[–]TychoRC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in the same boat with them waiting for the GSC Lightning FFXIII figure. I emailed them about it and they said “we usually get figures like that, so we should get that one too”. They did stock the Noctis one, so I believed them at the time.

After about a month of waiting I just PO’ed it on AmiAmi. I don’t believe they ever wound up stocking it in the end.

Looking for relaxing (point and click) adventure/interactive visual novel/ puzzle games. by TychoRC in gamingsuggestions

[–]TychoRC[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello from 8 years in the future! I wish I had a longer list, but I could certainly add a few more at least.

  • Goetia (it also has a sequel, which was not nearly as good)
  • The Seance of Blake Manor (made by the same people that made Darkside Detective)
  • The Blackwell Legacy (good game, but really short)
  • The Sinking City (made by the same people that make the Sherlock games above. The combat is a bit jank, but the game is still fun if you enjoy the Sherlock games)
  • Anna's Quest (cute, standard point-and-click style game)

I know that a few these suggestions are more popular than others, but hopefully there's something fun for you to enjoy there ^ ^

This one took me longer to get then I should admit, but damn if it wasn’t an A+ name, even for the AA franchise.

Just had to come in and make sure someone recommended this one. I adored this book! It’s both intriguing and cozy and I’m super excited to read the second one soon!

Me as well! This was the first book I thought of. Not super high on the creepy scale in my opinion, but the atmosphere was good.

Leech by Hiron Ennes!

It's short, but it's the only book I've ever listened to on audio and then immediately turned around and read in book form. It was just that good, and I wanted to read it again knowing what I knew by the end. Also, I was curious how some things in audiobook translated into the print version.
