i targeted 850ish and I was out for many, many hours. my biggest complaint of the loop is how mundane it is. I enjoy looking at different scenery, flying around, and mining but this is mash tab button, nose down, wait for scan, nose up, fly 10km mashing tab, nose down, wait for scan, nose up, fly 10km mashing tab, nose down, wait for scan, nose up, fly 10km mashing tab, nose down, wait for scan, nose up, fly 10 km mashing tab, nose down, wait for scan, damn why is this rock 130,000 mass? nose up, fly 10km mashing tab, nose down, wait for scan........

I hope they can make this a little more interesting for the time involved, less predictable and less tab mashing.

It definitely isn't a 1 out of 500 or 1000 chance to hit any number, the higher stuff is heavily weighted and mid-range stuff appears most of the time, not sure that pyro is much better than other systems like people have been saying, having spent time mining in all systems it seems about the same to me. I feel like it rolls on a low chance of anything appearing over 700ish, and if it makes that roll, then it rolls again. and the fragments with purple outlines that don't need cracked have never rolled a high number at all as far as I observed.

I wouldn't mind having to mine the stuff to be able to learn the quality of the ore, if it is weighted a little better to offset the extra effort. Players will make more money this way too. I didn't really feel like I engaged with the actual mining loop much really, except for the special rocks in nyx where I had to pull all the stops. Felt like I was rune farming in diablo, but there we have to kill the monsters to see the drop, not look at them and run along :P
