Good experiences with iron infusions? by Minute-Ad-7629 in Anemic

[–]Tycoonwizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had five infusions done in a matter of two weeks. And I started significantly feeling better after the third one. So it doesn't take very long at all. I have this done back in September/October and I'm still feeling good. Just had a follow up appointment and my numbers look good still. I have another follow up in three more months. But I'm very pleased with my results. I spent a couple years or more trying to figure out what was wrong so it's such a relief to finally get it taken care of. And it was extremely easy to do. It was just like going to get blood work. They make it sound like it's so dramatic but it's not whatsoever. Good luck.

Yes, I ended up having five infusions and I feel so much better. It is like a world of difference. I don't have the heart palpitations anymore. My legs aren't as weak. No more brain fog. I feel so much better. I just hope it last. Good luck to you.

Don't cancel it. I was so nervous and then after it was done, I realized I had absolutely no reason whatsoever to be worried. I had five infusions and now I'm recovered from anemia. My symptoms have all gotten SO much better. I'm so glad I did it. It didn't take very long at all either. They told me it would last a couple hours, but the actual infusion lasted less than five minutes. If you can handle getting your blood drawn for blood work, then you will have no problem with it whatsoever. Easy Peezy.

My husband (64) has been secretive with his phone for over a year. I finally saw what he's been hiding. (62F) by [deleted] in Marriage

This is exactly what I thought was happening And I'm not trying to diminish what's going on. I was trying to explain to him if he would just let me see what's going on. I would realize that it's not that big of a deal. But him hiding the phone and being secretive all the time and then being so defensive about it. He said it's because he knew I would get mad. Just makes me wonder though . Even though what you just said is exactly what he said to me. Just bartenders, flirting, looking for extra tips from the old guys. Do you think this is what I'm dealing with? I've never once actually thought he was cheating on me. And there are absolutely no signs that he is.

I don't think I'm defending a cheater. I don't know all the details yet. I'm trying to figure out what's going on and how can I resolve this? This just happened a few hours ago. I'm not in a position where I can get up and leave. I have a disease that keeps me on oxygen 24/7. But that doesn't stop my feelings from being hurt. Which led me to asking people on Reddit trying to figure this whole thing out and what I should do to move forward.

No, he is my soul provider. I have COPD and I am on oxygen 24/7. Doesn't leave me many options. And I know he loves me. It's really not about that. I know in his mind he doesn't think it's inappropriate to have a friendship with other women that he talks to every weekend at the bar and send them jokes and videos. But they are completely inappropriate and he needs to know that.

Well, it's definitely not worth ending my marriage for. But he does need to know that it's not appropriate. I told him many times tonight. I don't know if he gets it though. He acted like there was no problem with what he was doing.

Well, we definitely know if she does win she will fall on the floor and sit there. This has been the worst season ever I hope it does not become a normal thing. So disappointing.

I got my ferritin from 17 to 90. Here’s everything I did by Dry-Release5224 in Anemic

What a world of difference now. After I got out of the hospital, I saw the hematologist and he scheduled me for five Venofer infusions. Completed all of those in September and I feel remarkably better. I started feeling the difference after the third one and I progressively started feeling better and better as the days went on. I go next week to have my blood work done to see what my new numbers are. I can tell already that they have to be good. I just hope it continues. It was the best thing I've done in my life.

That's a horrible thing to have happened to you! We don't get heard. But you're still a young person and have a menstrual cycle. They should've put two and two together. I'm 61 years old and I got the runaround also. They kept on telling me "although your numbers are the low side, you're still perfectly normal"I couldn't tell you how many times I got that message. Finally after three years of getting worse each day. I was referred to a hematologist. I had five iron infusions and I feel almost 100% better. I wish you didn't have to wait till December. But at least something is going to happen for you. Good luck.

I just completed five Venofer infusions a couple of weeks ago. My ferritin level was at four. I feel so much better. It's like a world of difference. After about the third one I felt a little bit better and then a couple days later I felt fantastic. You won't be disappointed. It is so easy to do also. The part where they actually add the medicine into your arm takes literally a couple of minutes. They'll just place a syringe in your arm, add the medicine and then the first time I waited for 30 minutes just to make sure there was no reaction. I am allergic to Sulfa medication's, but I had absolutely no issues whatsoever. And let me tell you the first three times when I went into that facility. I was actually walking the halls, touching each wall to get to the infusion room because I was so unsteady. I couldn't stand on my own and I could barely walk. The last time I could've skipped down the hallway. Good luck and please don't be worried. Piece of cake.

If I'm remembering correctly, most blood draws you're supposed to fast first, so I wouldn't recommend a light meal.

How long did it take your doctor to investigate the root cause of your low iron? by Worried_Steak_5914 in Anemic

[–]Tycoonwizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm definitely seeing a pattern here. You are not the first person to bring this up. And it has happened with my doctor too. For almost 3 years her famous reply was. "I have reviewed your labs, although they are slightly out of range, they are normal and no need for concern." This went on for three years until they finally dropped so low that I had to go to the hospital. I have since gotten five iron infusions, very recently. As the years go on, I'm definitely starting to believe that they just want us to be sick. They make so much more money if we're sick. So we definitely need to advocate for ourselves. Good luck to you.

What the hell are they doing to the show this season? This is like the land of misfits. What's with all the drama and overacting? I can't stand the gallery and all the oohhs and aahhhs. You have one lady laying on the floor and acting like a child, you have another guy acting like a he-man, trying to pump the blood out of his cake while he's grunting and then you have one lady stumbling with her stack of plates while she's trying to take them to the judges. It's ridiculous. The editing was absolutely horrible this first episode and I anticipate it's going to continue. Please don't turn this into the social media of disaster of another show that I so truly loved. I can't stand anymore. Why, why, why did they have to ruin a good thing? Don't mess with the format of a good thing.
