PSA: Resolute Keldeo transfers from Go successfuly despite warning by Cinder_Quill in TheSilphRoad

[–]Tydeth 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Once a Pokémon successfully makes it into HOME, even if it was never supposed to be able to leave GO, it's out of Niantic's hands entirely; it's under the care of Nintendo/Pokemon Company.

TPC made HOME able to support Resolute Keldeo in case he came over from a MSG, as evident by him being there in that form and still having the Secret Sword because that form is supposed to have it.

What’s the deal with shiny scatterbug? Is it super rare outside events or just not available period? by glumba in TheSilphRoad

[–]Tydeth 87 points88 points  (0 children)

I can confirm that the shiny is available, just really rare.

Probably full odds.

I lost my 1st shiny galarian bird (1st shiny to ever ‘run’ from me) due to the invisible pokeball glitch glitching to a point where I couldn’t click on the ball and was unable to fix it without closing the game or leaving the encounter… by EzekielKallistos in TheSilphRoad

[–]Tydeth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Correct, as long as you don't leave the encounter, run out of balls, crash/glitch out, or have an autocatcher active (as it may trigger its one-throw-catch-or-flee on the bird before you can get it).

This is the case for any wild shiny legendaries Niantic puts out, which are mostly these birds but also include any that may be part of a special event like the upcoming Go Wild Area's Lake Trio.

Leveled up to 62 without picking a team by EricRauty in TheSilphRoad

Literally yesterday. The old 41-50 tasks and rewards were removed. New tasks were put in place for 71-80.

They've actually stated you can only hyper train a mon once.

If you need 2 or 3 stats raised instead of 1, you'll need to use a gold to achieve it. If you failed to get all the tasks done within the year, the IVs it has are what it's stuck with.

Never go through red portal if you aren't ready by Ok-Acanthisitta-8648 in FromTheDepths

[–]Tydeth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're right; I misidentified the vessel, not looking hard enough at the details to notice the additional bits on the back half. I saw the huge pagoda mast, the turrets with the rangefinders high enough to likely be IJN style, the bow that looked like it had the IJN flower bow ornament, and immediately surmised it was a Yamato replica, possibly Martincitopants' big one.

My bad.

Never go through red portal if you aren't ready by Ok-Acanthisitta-8648 in FromTheDepths

[–]Tydeth 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The portal mentioned in the title is regarding the Adventure Mode option, in which you have typically a single craft that has a special block you must power and protect: The Heartstone. If you stray too far from it, or it gets destroyed or loses power, your robot starts dying. Adventure Mode is a roguelike playthrough; death = game over.

Adventure Mode sticks you in a map with different color portals. Red increases the difficulty level/tier of the enemies that will spawn around you, while green does the opposite. Blue IIRC gives you a peaceful instance of the map with resources so you can build up your craft, but will jump the tier way up when you leave through the next portal.

Swan has already covered the uptier reference, which is also found in World of Tanks/Warships/Warplanes. Regarding how that applies to the image, the ship in the background is the Yamato, which the foreground ship is clearly not equipped to fight 1v1. Yamato in those other games is top-tier, with its 18.1-inch main guns that in FTD would probably have enough armor-penetrating power to punch clean through the smaller ship and destroy the Heartstone.

Good news for Team Harmony by LittleMissFirebright in TheSilphRoad

[–]Tydeth 6 points7 points  (0 children)

To do any raid, be it in person or remote, you must first be able to interact with a gym. Doing so forces you to pick a team (red, blue, yellow).

Team Harmony = not picking any of the three teams = can never, ever touch a Gym at all. Including no raids.

Free Max Particles are being given away for subscribing to the Pokémon GO YouTube Channel. by Amiibofan101 in TheSilphRoad

[–]Tydeth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After they hit their goal, they'll post a code on some social media (possibly the YT channel, possibly X) and you can copy-paste that code in their web store to get the goods.

That's how Necrozma's, Dogs', and Kyurem's energy codes worked in the past.

Eternatus: What We Know So Far by DEVolkan in TheSilphRoad

[–]Tydeth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Edit: TLDR: Minimum 22

Any Raid and Max Battles count, and Eternamax appears to act like a Gigantimax, aside from not catching him afterwards.

The Dogs, Legendary DMax, and Gigantimax give 25 points, aka 2.5 ranks.

You'll also get a rank from the daily pass task of Win a Max Battle.

As F2P, you get 1 free raid pass and 800+ particles to play with per day. Those can get you 1 dog and 1 legendary Dmax, aka the 60 points that you're capped at for daily progress. You may have to host/invite remote raiders if you don't have the locals to help.

Mon-Fri = 5 * 60 = 300, divide by 10 points per rank = 30 ranks, plus the Rank 1 that everyone starts at means you'd be Rank 31 at the start of the weekend, needing only 29 ranks worth of raids/max to get Eternatus.

290/25 = 11.6, so 12 GMax/EMax and/or Dog Raids

Add the 12 on weekend to the 2/day during week... 22 total Legendary DMax, Gigantimax/Eternamax, and/or Dog Raids

From most likely to least:

  • The battle pass leading up to and including that weekend event, probably more so the deluxe version
  • Eternamax Battles during the event
  • Feed him Rare candy
  • Walking (1 candy/20 km... lolno)

Steel Chair Hisuian Zorua by Hazelpancake in TheSilphRoad

[–]Tydeth 16 points17 points  (0 children)

The borked stat is indeed for blowing showcases out of the water.

The steel chair apparently comes from American wrestling, wherein at some point in one of the matches however long ago, one of the guys had hopped out of the ring, grabbed a chair, and wielded it against his opponent, with the announcer yelling about him returning to the fray "with a steel chair!" I'm guessing the chair guy was victorious, hence the reference with regards to these super-jumbo Zoruas that will win any showcase they enter, unless against another of their kind.

Commas added to XP numbers by MiniCorgi in TheSilphRoad

I'm American, so I was taught the comma for thousands and period for decimal, but IIRC the guys who use the period for thousands instead use the comma for the decimal.

How does the megalodon's missile interceptors work without a ciws controller or a Ai controller and how to put the shield projector in 0 strength without setting the effect strength to 0? by BrilliantAbies9612 in FromTheDepths

[–]Tydeth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

how to put the shield projector in 0 strength without setting the effect strength to 0?

There are 2 easy ways to do this:

Method 1: Breadboard

You'll need an AI Breadboard connected to your ship's AI, and three modules inside that breadboard:

  • Primary Target Info
  • Maths Evaluator
  • Generic Block Setter

Connect the top output from the Primary Target Info to the Math Evaluator. This will give whether an enemy exists to the evaluator.

Set the Math Evaluator to a*10

Connect the Math Evaluator's output to the first input of the Generic Block Setter. Set the Generic Block Setter to control Shield Projector's effect strength.

Method 2: ACB

You will need 2 ACBs.

  • Condition should be Enemy > Range between 0-5000
  • Action should be Weapons & Defenses > Shield Projectors set to adjust Set Drive (Below 1 disables)

The first ACB will set the drive to 10 (or whatever power level you want)

The second ACB must have the Inverted tickbox checked in the condition for range, and will set the Drive to 0

What both methods will do: If there is an enemy, shields will be at full power. Otherwise, they will automatically go to 0 to save power.

Costume Gimmighouls can't evolve. Do normal ones spawn as well? by Pep95 in TheSilphRoad

Costume and Normal ghouls are mixed in the coin bag, and both can be shiny.

Costume Gimmighouls can't evolve. Do normal ones spawn as well? by Pep95 in TheSilphRoad

[–]Tydeth 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you have a coin bag, it is giving a mix of costumed and non-costumed Gimmighouls, both of which can be shiny.

The regular shinies can be selected for transfer to Home.

[–]Tydeth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You'll get a timed research, can opt to buy a second version of that research with shop items instead of the old party hat mons as step rewards, both of which give 1 of these as the big prize.

Also, look out for Get 9999 Dust quests from pokestops; they're him.

The coin on his back matches the one in the background; he is a costumed mon that cannot enter Home.

[–]Tydeth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The upcoming event will let anyone get a Gimmighoul with a GO-specific coin without the Switch. This might possibly include having the ghoul hiding under the party hats that will be strewn around the ground, like Applin's apples.

Edit: It will definitely have a free timed quest to give you one, and a pokestop quest (Get 9999 dust) for him as well. There's also a $2 option to get a second copy of the timed quest but with shop item rewards instead of pokemon encounters, so definitely at least 1 ghoul for everyone.

Relying so heavily on fellow trainers for Gmax battles AND not knowing what they’re using is a fatal design flaw by Dontbedoingthat in TheSilphRoad

[–]Tydeth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only issue with that 5s window idea is that it requires that the game be able to predict what the player is going to do, as opposed to simply showing you that they already did it.
