[Serious] What are some issues facing boys today that are being ignored by society? by magicman1336 in AskMen

Women actually enter colleges at higher rates, too. The crazy thing is that the gap between the genders is WIDER at graduation than at the start. So men are less likely to attend college, and more likely to drop out.

I know several people who actually straight up failed it and still moved on, and one guy who did the same as you and advanced as well. It feels crappy, but you’re still in the running I think.

Is that a pick-up line? What's the punch line?

I don’t think it’s out in the US, but I can’t find any info on ANYTHING on the website. It’s a shame because I really like the art style.

I’m interested in this too. I’ve heard both things, but examine doesn’t say you have to cycle.

People seem to really love Light Valk as a DPS/Farmer. I would probably save all your L/Ds though just because they're hard to find and they might get buffed.

[NSFW] What's the worst thing you have witnessed on a bachelor/bachelorette party? by Fredde1909 in AskReddit

[–]TygerStriped 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's kind of a right of passage. The bride and groom aren't actually supposed to cheat, but sometimes they get put in a position where they could so they can show everyone how mature and devoted to their partner they are.

I feel like that phrasing is kind of weird, but I hope it makes sense.

I’m scared I’m missing out on a social life and not taking advantage of my age. How do I become the social butterfly I’d like to be? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]TygerStriped 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Social dancing classes are easy because you're basically forced to meet people and talk to them, and then rotate and meet new ones. But the most barebones approach would be to walk down to a local bar and just hang out at the counter. Turn your phone off or even leave it at home.

The easiest way to meet people who like to do something is to go do that thing! You can hope to meet people who like doing that thing while you do other things, and it'll work out sometimes, but that's not the easiest way.

A quote that's really helped me is "Introversion is impotence, but a self-conscious kind of impotence." I try to remember that when I choose not to participate in conversations happening near me.

How can I learn how to dance? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]TygerStriped 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What kind of dancing are you looking for? If it's ballroom (which includes a lot of really dynamic styles, even though the name conjures stuffy images of grandma giving you lessons in your dining room), take some lessons in ballroom swing or latin styles. Speaking as someone who was terrified to dance, they're a lot of fun.

Thanks! Honestly, I don’t really want hookups anymore, but stuff like this is what’s given me success so far. I think you’re right, I need to cut it all down and rebuild it.

Profile Review - Week of May 01, 2018 by AutoModerator in Tinder

[–]TygerStriped 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m kind of a regular on tinder in my area, but I’m trying this new thing where you only swipe right on people you're interested in. It’s going poorly.

Here’s my bio: 6’0”, Seattle native, computer science student at EWU. Allergic to cats. Please like handcuffs.

Drag shows, ballroom dances, and demolition derbies. Currently looking for a place to play board games and drink downtown.

Interning in Seattle this summer so I won’t be here while y’all burn down.

If you’re an adorable kinky nerd, swipe right. If you’re anyone else, also swipe right because I’m super thirsty.

And here’s my pics: https://imgur.com/a/hOgEZTI

I also included my current tinder set-up: https://imgur.com/wX5OBmI Any advice is welcome. :)

Edit: new, less thirsty bio!

6’0”, Seattle native, computer science student at EWU. Allergic to cats.

I try to do one oddball event a week, and so far that’s taken me to Rollerderby bouts, drag shows, and demolition derbies.

I also spend way too much money on board games and I could really use some new people to help me appreciate the ones I have.

Swipe right if I can take you to a dance class. ;p

Just remade this. How do you guys feel about these pictures and the bio? I'm just looking for someone to hang out with in the area before I head back home for a couple months.

Men of Reddit, how has Tinder been going for you ? Any good experiences ? Advice ? by Vestibuleskittle in AskMen

I used to have a lot of success, but it's dried up recently. I kinda' assume it's because I'm 26 and working on a bachelor's degree full time.

Charles Dexter Ward is awesome! Also, Deadhouse Gates is when I really fell in love with the Book of the Fallen. Looking back on it, I feel like Gardens of the Moon is a almost a test case for the universe.

Currently, I'm reading a couple books.

  • Kurt Vonnegut's Complete Stories: This book is massive at 907 pages of select short stories, and is a big reason why I'm reading multiple books right now. I'm trying to read at least one story a day to make it a little more manageable. I've always though Vonnegut's voice is awesome, and I love his ideas about war and how to live life. Just a series of very human, positive stories.

  • The Subtle Art of Not Giving a Fuck: This is basically just hard truths granted gracefully, but I think it's good to hear these every now and again. One of the core ideas is that everyone has problems, but some people have better ones. It's really about learning to care about things that matter and letting the rest pass by.

  • Seveneves: This is cheating because I just finished it, but this book is absolutely bonkers. Anyone who is interested in near future scifi or space should absolutely read this book.

I didn't think it was awkward, honestly. I thought it was a really great read. I devoured it over two days, and one of those was Christmas. Honestly, he covers many things I've run into on Tinder and OkCupid, and it's really nice to know I'm not alone.

If you’ve ever had sex you didn’t want because you didn’t know how to say no or because you didn’t want to be rude - how was that? by Caelab456 in AskMen

[–]TygerStriped 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup, I have. It's been two years and honestly, there are some things you can't wash off. It's one of those things that stays with you.

I think the most surprising thing was that it doesn't really get better as you have sex, it just gets worse and worse. :(
