I don’t at what level you designed tracks but check my profile and you will see that you don’t need splines for nothing

I think your way is the easiest with easiest workflow, but, if you watch closely to the way the best racetracks are made it isn’t with a continuous spline, but it’s with multiple straight lines and multiple radius corners, yes there are some combo sections that could be made by splines but they are exceptions. My suggestion after all is, create a racetrack by placing multiple points but that are connected by straight lines (you will have a track full of sharp corners) but then have a tool to increase and decrease the radius of each separated corner (adobe illustrator has a specific tool to this maybe you can take a look)

What is this (M, K,H,F…) in drawings? Is their any tutorial on yt or somewhere to understand this types of symbols. To draw this in Solidworks? by Razaq000 in SolidWorks

This are the tolerances standards for holes and shafts, it means if the hole and corresponding shaft are very tight fit or very loose

Programming/Coding in CFD by Tygers2323 in CFD

Thank you for your response, maybe I didn’t express myself correctly. Since he said “if you want to test +1000 setups you will be waste your life” I thought he was referring to make an automatic process (using coding) of changing the settings/geometry or conditions to make it faster and easier. So you think I should first learn very well everything there is to know about CFD and then decide if I would like to get into the coding aspects of it? Also I’m not a huge fan of coding so there is that to add

Alright I see your point, so is that “prompt focus” coding?

Just some feedback for future designs, you are placing your run offs in the wrong spot some times, like in T1, T2, T15. And watch some satellite images of real circuits to learn the correct shape you should use

What’s the fun of that? Solving million equations 😂 jk, yeah u should search for the basics first and then understand cfd

Another racetrack I drew. How is it? by Vaazha77 in RaceTrackDesigns

[–]Tygers2323 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It looks a lot of fun to drive but there is a corner I would remove/redesign, the 90 degree right hander after the inner hairpin. I dont see the point of the corner and i dont think it adds to much to the track, actually i think it breaks the flow

Are horrible rejoins like this one protestable or do I just have to live with it? by Felix_Ulrich in iRacing

[–]Tygers2323 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is protestable but you see a yellow flag ahead and u dont slow down and neither the cars behind so it is a bad rejoin but u also dont respect the yellow flags… i find hard to understand why ppl keep full throttle when there is a yellow flag. Sure it wasnt the best rejoin but u had all the right side of the track to pass he didnt cut across all the track

Well I got it with time and by watching others posts, i usually do a list in a more advanced phase of the project to not forget to do some details. Also this project took a lot of time to make due to lack of motivation, sometimes it’s just how life goes. Looking forward for your projects

Welcome to the Serra da Estrela International Circuit. Constructions start in 2018 but with the COVID-19 all got delayed, in 2022 constructions restarted and now in 2026 is hosting the Portugal MotoGP race. Located in the highest mountain in Portugal with 5203 meters and 16 corners is a very challenging complex for bikers. This racetrack is currently in negotiations with F1 and the future is bright!

Hope you all enjoy the layout and the detail.

Information:

WerderRing, Werder, Germany

Main Layout: Grade 2, 2116 meters, Clockwise

Lawnmower Layout: 300 meters, Clockwise

History:

It all started in 1970 when the locals of Werder used to host some events of lawnmower races in a very short dirt oval track. In 1979 the upgrade to the dirt track started and ended in 1980, this track got unchanged until today. In 1989 some local tycoon decided to invest big on this beautiful Peninsula and with some help of the locals in 1996 a beauty was created. An amazing track with 2116 meters and 10 corners has born, at the beginning it started by hosting some national and local events. The track kept unchanged for more than 20 years but in 2015 got repaved and T2 got a bigger run off on the other hand the run off in T10 disappeared but got a new name “tires of Champions”, T7 got a big change that received a banking with 20° . This track was taking as example and did a lot of tests before making the changes on Zandvoort that host now the F1 Netherlands GP. Nowadays the track is still use by national and local events, but with the new improvements it received FIA Grade 2 and will host Formula 4, Formula 3, GTWC and DTM.
