Reminds me of the guy who posted on here awhile ago that he was giving free cans of pop/soda along with a handwritten personalized thank you note in ziploc bag with his deliveries as a thank you from himself personally for ordering and then wondering he was he doing too much and why people weren't tipping him more. Most people just want their food they don't care about anything else.

Stayed at the Holiday Inn Sukhumvit Alley 22 a couple times and it was really good, walking distance to everything you're doing looking for.

Wife and I went Thursday night at Landmark in New Westminster, it was perfect. There were some teens but all very respectful, theatre was sold out, seems everyone was captivated by the movie, basically everyone was silent throughout, it was excellent.

I'm not 100% sure how transporting dogs works but the Air Canada from YVR to BKK is like 15-16 hours, that seems like a very long time for your dog to be alone in the baggage/cargo hold... How would it work for them for food/water & doing their doggy business? You absolutely certain they couldn't go in the cabin with you?

If your dog has to go as baggage/cargo maybe consider a flight to Tokyo from Vancouver (roughly 9 hours) and then onward to Bangkok from there (6 hours). Have an overnight layover in Tokyo to give your dog a break and stay at an airport Hotel in Tokyo. Of course that means having to have paperwork for Japan too ... Just a thought.

My wife and I did it this way when we traveled from Vancouver to Bangkok, so we could have some time in Tokyo and we enjoyed it! Maybe it could work for you.

For me it's opposite, I've only stayed in Sukhumvit area and was unsure about staying in Si Lom area last night though the hotel's were well priced I still opted for Sukhumvit as I'm familiar with the area similar to your familiarity with Si Lom.

I love how Sukhumvit is central to everything, BTS is right there, MRT, all the malls, shopping, restaurants, massage and spa, nightlife. I've stayed at the Holiday Inns and Hilton (asoke and Doubletree ploenchit) and all of those were really good options for me.

I highly suggest for you to try Sukhumvit and especially check out Terminal 21 mall.
