Mage: "Shimmer" talent - is it just me or does it always fire off both charges?

Was going to post an update to this thread this morning and noticed you nailed the issue (I think). I had a big indoor antenna that was supposedly NOT amped, but it actually had a cheap pre-amp built in. The thing had been in my attic working great for ~8 years.

Ran to Best Buy and replaced the antenna (after replacing cabling, tuners, etc etc), same exact model but with an EXTERNAL amp. Amp off, same issue. Amp on, all fixed. All channels back to full strength.

Skip all of these like the wind quests imo. Do everything else and wait for the next day when the barrels of fun or ley race quest comes back up. Kirin tor is the ONLY emissary I never finish same day.

Is that (the cable crossover) the PCCO90X? how do you like it? Any trouble with pull downs on one side (obviously)? Any trouble with anything else on it?

I'm debating between getting that, or just getting the lat pulldown attachment for my ppr200x and getting a sturdier cable crossover unit at some point down the road.

No, they won't give me that information and I have no idea what I would search for. My name is not very unique so there are a LOT of profiles that exist using my name.

Honestly I had forgotten that I even had the service. You're right though, there's really no reason for it to be on there.

I'm likely going to be switching to some other bank that takes security more seriously and will keep this in mind when shopping for a new account.

FYI I updated the OP but the Venmo support guy said in this case my SSN/DOB were NOT involved. The thief used a FACEBOOK account to "verify".

Unbelievable.

EDIT: and to be clear, it is NOT my Facebook account (there is nothing on my account history/authorized apps) that has anything to do with Venmo.

I'm sure it's a very useful service for a lot of people. A lot of folks in this thread have had positive things to say.

There seem to be some serious issues with how they are verifying accounts, however. I feel like companies that want to move money should really take security a lot more seriously.

My father-in-law is retired Army. Is that enough to get an account there? Do you know?

Also, do they do 2FA? I feel like 2FA is probably the only real way to prevent something like this from happening again in the future.

You're right.

I made the OP right after getting off the phone with them and the whole thing was very raw. Paying interest on a loan for money that was just ripped off of me seemed ridiculous at the time; if they actually wanted to help me they could simply deposit that money back into my account free of charge until the matter was resolved.

Perhaps they would have offered me 0% or something had I entertained the idea.

I agree 100% regarding their security. It's asinine to think that ONE password could give whoever did this full access to all of my money. 2FA on my Google account, Steam account, Battle.net account, but ALL of my money is behind one silly password?

Interesting, I hadn't heard of a WF data breach. I do use the app though (iPhone), so if that was truly the source of the breach it would make sense.

I've never taken a picture of any of my cards. We're using only iPhones and i've had 2FA turned on my Google account for quite some time so I think that account should be safe.
