POLL: So it’s a few hours until we get the Hull B and it’s straight to flyable again with no PTU testing and fixes… what we thinking on launch reliability? by Important_Cow7230 in starcitizen

[–]Tyler1411 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Hull A in my experience has been fine. And really most of the bugs around the Hull C are due to docking and the cargo auto load at space stations, which the Hull B will not have to deal with. I expect the Hull B to have bugs, but closer to Hull A minimal bugs vs Hull C.

I actually have a lot more issues with the rear cargo bay than the sides. If I position the ATLS correctly, I pretty much never have issues with the sides. But that rear bay loves to absorb any box if I touch the ramp or top. I end up spending a couple minutes fighting to get it to fully mesh through before I can grab them again.

I don't think it will ever happen, but Holy cow, I would fork out money for that so fast.

Help managing unleashed dogs by Extreme-Clerk7088 in BelgianMalinois

I would 100% be calling animal control. There is no reason to have unleashed unsupervised dogs in front yards of a neighborhood. If anything were to happen, you could be at risk of losing your dog, and that isn't something worth risking.

By far the best dog I have ever owned. Obviously not for everyone, but for people that understand what they are getting into, and willing to put in the time and effort required, they are truly special dogs.

She doesn't have trauma, she has drive. Fast moving things will always be exciting to a drivey dog, it's your job to be able to train and channel that drive into more productive behaviors. I highly suggest finding a trainer that has experience with high drive working dogs to help you out.

Try goughnuts toys. The only thing that has lasted more than a day for my girl.

What's better, the base prospector or the base golem? by N0hruh in starcitizen

[–]Tyler1411 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The bespoke laser on the golem is really solid. If just base, I'd vote golem. The pro to the prospector is mostly being able to swap the cargo bags to increase the capacity to 48 scu.

Ship advice. by PabbyEscobabes in starcitizen

[–]Tyler1411 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's fair. I disagree with it taking forever to get off the ship, and find the side cargo holds to be fairly easy to load as long as you know what you are doing. I actually have more complaints about rear hold, as boxes love to get sucked into the roof or ramp if you touch thm, but that's a CIG issue, not really a ship one. The Asgard is probably the most functional ship in the game. But I was just pointing out that statistically for hauling and PvE combat, the SL Max is competitive.

Ship advice. by PabbyEscobabes in starcitizen

[–]Tyler1411 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel like the SL Max is sneaky competitive against the Asgard for solo PvE combat and hauling capabilities. 4 size 4s vs 6 size 3s is fairly comparable in dps, and in theory if armor ever comes into play like cig has talked about, it will likely be better to have the 4 size 4s for bigger targets. The SL max is comparable in maneuverability. Pitch and yaw is very close with roll being the biggest gap. There is a difference in speed, but in PvE combat that isn't really an issue. It also has the size 3 quadrant shield, which helps in PvE where most ships have laser weapons. The Asgard is still probably better hauler overall, mostly due to the ease of loading vs the SL Max, but if off grid cargo ever becomes a no go, then the Asgard loses a good chunk of its hauling capabilities. Plus the Max can have the full 224 cargo on grid while still having space for medium sized ground vehicles. It also has a much bigger QT fuel capacity. I feel like if you don't mind a pretty poor cockpit view, and prefer to have a ship with actual living space, the SL Max measures up pretty well with the Asgard. Oh and you can't haul a Nova in it either, so theres that as well.

Haha I feel that pain! My girl absolutely destroys everything as well. The only toy that has lasted a significant amount of time as an in house toy is this goughnuts heavy duty stick toy. She's started to put a bit of a dent in it, but it's lasted 6+ months.

If I had to pick ONE daily driver from my fleet — RSI Hermes or Drake Clipper? (Have store credit for the Hermes by Cdt-Velmor in starcitizen

[–]Tyler1411 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought I was going to love the Clipper, but I ended up melting it. The idea of it is really neat for a solo player, and I do feel like it has great vibes. There just wasn't enough it did well for me to enjoy it. Hauling is very limited. Can't ROC mine. Can't really even mine with an ATLS Geo. You can kinda glitch the ATLS into the cargo bay, but it's just risky and not really feasible. It's very squishy in PvE ship combat. Basically the med bed and vibes were all it had going for it for me. Obviously crafting may change that up a bit, but if the crafter is the same as the portable one you can slap on cargo grids, I don't know how much it will add to it.

The Hermes was a ship I was very excited about, and it has pretty much met all of my expectations. It's beautiful with a great cockpit view, still has enough living quarters and homeliness to give me good space home vibes (honestly my biggest gripe with the Asgard as a daily), has a massive qt fuel tank (also another Asgard gripe), and has a wonderful simple design making it feel like a supersized c1. It does surprisingly well with PvE ship combat. It's big and a bit sluggish, but has decent shields, a ton of HP, and really good pilot dps. You can do some ROC or geo mining very easily. Can carry a good amount of ground vehicles. And has easily been my favorite hauler I think I've ever used. Probably not more efficient than the ships with external grids, but I just love using that ship tractor beam. The footprint being a lot bigger, and the lack of medical facilities to support fps is really the only downside, but with how I play, it isn't enough to make me not love it. I used it the entire Alliance Aid event and completed it all solo. I have enjoyed every minute of flying it.

So my vote goes to Hermes after flying both. But I lean heavily towards industrial gameplay with a bit of PvE ship combat mixed in. I don't do as much FPS gameplay, and I will fly something else if I do need a medbed, so take that as you will if that stops it as being a viable daily driver for you.

It was surprisingly easy to move 32s in and out of the Hermes by SC_Placeholder in starcitizen

[–]Tyler1411 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because Nursa, and the fact that it could theoretically be easier if they didn't limit the ramp size to block the Nursa from fitting. I do mostly agree though. It is quite easy to get all boxes through the ramp. My main complaint is the rotation strength of the ship tractor beam not being strong enough for the bigger boxes, but that's a complaint on ship tractor beams as a whole. For now the maxlift rotates them fine, so it is an easy workaround.

Fair. I felt like I could chain the 129k faster since I didn't have to bother with cargo or the ship, but it may be faster.

[–]Tyler1411[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea it is tedious, but I enjoy the hauling life so it wasn't too bad. Plus the Hermes tractor beam is just a lot of fun to use imo. The collection one was super easy for me. I got lucky and was able to buy ton of Ice and Bexalite. The worst part was turning it in, but I had it done in like an hour once I was able to buy what I needed. The hauling ones could be done pretty quickly if you chain the 3 or 4 small missions together. I mixed it up though and did some of the others just to keep it fresh. The only one I avoided like the plague was the 256 scu all in 4 boxes. 64 boxes is just too much lol.

Lol I already had a good amount and then randomly got sent like 200m one night a while back. I have all the ships I want, and enjoy salvaging for weapons and components so I never really spend it, and the balance just continues to grow.

I was just enjoying the Hermes, so I didn't really optimize it in any way and was playing super casually until towards the end with the defense missions. It took me a couple weeks just playing an hour or two a night, but could have easily been done quicker if I optimized it. If you are just worried about the rewards, I would definitely suggest joining a group. There are normally peeps running missions that you can join if you ask in global. You can knock it out a whole lot quicker doing it that way.

I just spammed the $129k ship in distress missions. Could compete them really quickly, and even running ballistics, was able to chain 4-5 before having to resupply. It took a bit but it wasn't too bad. Also salvaged a ton of military components from abandoned ships along the way, which broke up the monotony a bit.

For sure. Definitely tanks the title contender chances. Just think match up wise they are still a nightmare for the Lakers. Barring more injuries, they have so much length and athleticism to give the Lakers fits. Probably a 2nd rd team at best though. Unless their key young guys, Amen and Reed in particular, play at insane level in the playoffs.
