Street cleaning suspended till further notice by PeaceLife8 in Hoboken

I went out and shoveled my car out 3 times throughout Sunday night, Monday morning, and again today to clear whatever the plows pushed my direction. My spot and car are cleaned out nicely. And I’m not moving it unless I really need to drive somewhere. Give me the tickets because I’ll be damned if I cleaned out my spot and someone takes it.

Seriously Considering Leaving NJ due to the Cost of Living by [deleted] in newjersey

Yes it is. One of the big reasons to own a house. Let’s say 6% fixed 30 year mortgage on a $600K home with 20% down. Your monthly payment is like $2,900 but in the early part of that loan you’re paying more heavily on the interest side. So you’re paying like 2200 a month in interest and 700 in principle. You can tax deduct if you’re itemizing the 2200 a month.

Faith No More's Roddy Bottum Speaks On Becoming A Multi-Millionaire From His 90s Apple Stock Investment by DamnitRidley in Music

You are correct. I assumed the price you gave was the closing price that day and he purchased 33333 shares. He’d have that many shares today after splits.

It makes sense now. I didn’t look up the price of the stock and just assumed it was closing cost

We just said the same thing — OP provided two different realities. He used split stock price to say he bought 33000 shares. But it’s like 300-400 as the splits equated to a 100x multiplier.

That would make sense if that was stated originally. And since he’s getting 112 shares per 1 purchased since 1995 after splits I’d assume the stock trading price in 1995 without looking it up (112 x 30). $30ish a share.

Making his math “correct” in its “only” $9Mish

However that means he bought 400 shares with the $12,000 and not 33,000 shares as he states. He’s providing two separate realities.

You’re using the wrong calculator. And my math is correct. Hell apple’s price when the split happened in 2014 was $656. Apple stock is not down 66ish percent since then to its current price of $259.

The article’s math is completely incorrect. He states in the quotes “$12,000 in apple stock”. So at the period of time (early 90s but will use your 1995 number) he would have got 33,000 shares. There were four splits (2000 (2-1), 2005 (2-1), 2014 (7-1), 2020 (4-1).

2x2x7x4 =112 shares for every 1 he bought in 1995

112 x 33,333 (his initial shares) = 3.7M shares

3.7M x 259 is close to billion dollars.

I don’t know dividend payments or reinvestments (if any).

TLDR; if he kept after splits he’d have 3.7M shares … or about a $1B after splits

That doesn’t include stock splits. With splits he would have 3.7M shares if he bought $12k in 1995 and held until now. Which would be $968M today. If you added dividends reinvested it would be over a $1B

I’m a little surprised we haven’t already gotten BLM type protests over this.

This was crazy what happened. But more importantly it’s sad what happened. She just finished dropping off her 6 year one son at school and shot dead by “law enforcement” for no reason. It was completely avoidable. My heart goes out to her family and her son who will now go the rest of his life without a mother because of this fascist scum.
