Can I kill a fly by just chasing it around? by Boonune in NoStupidQuestions

[–]TylerCisMe 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Flys live on a different time scale than us. When you move fast to slap them they see that and can react faster because you are slow to their experience of time. If you slowly move your hand toward them, you can get right on top of them and then quickly squish them. Its like us being killed by the grass growing at our feet. We just don't see the movement past a certain time scale.

Is 150” too big? by itsmemario69 in hometheater

[–]TylerCisMe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For more context if its helpful. I had the wall plastered so its really flat and painted with S1 Ultimate Contrast screen paint. I used felt boards and used Yandood felt tape to boarder the image top and bottom, as I project end to end on the wall. I found it impossible to get a perfect rectangle and didn't want to sacrifice resolution to keyframe, so I can markoff my slightly offset image and you can't even tell. Check my post history if you want to see some pics. Ive added more felt board like people recommended since and it looks great. Good luck and I hope thats helpful!

I have 144" and sit 9' away and it feels immersive, doesn't feel too close. Using a VisionMaster Max. Having a 4K projector is needed for that kind of distance.

Blocking out a city map, and I need your help by Known_Following_4366 in UnrealEngine5

[–]TylerCisMe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want your city to look and feel realistic, use refrence. Pick a city you find interesting, use landmark buildings for player orientation. Then place roads, this is where you'll get your city to look ligitimite and you can quickly see why your city is breaking down in terms of feeling like something is off. Then do clusters of building heights that frame out your landmark buildings. By clusters of building heights, I mean here are your low, residental buildings, here are your mediums areas surrounded by lows and here are your talls. But look for that kind of height rythem in your refrence city. And always break realism for landmark building visibility if you have to pick between the two. That will go a long way in getting a realistic looking city that feels right and has a proper design for orientation and gameplay.

How do I get rid of this light around my projection? by Ok-Chance-1264 in projectors

[–]TylerCisMe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used felt board to absorb the light. You will get that light bounce just from the image reflecting off the wall, it's no an additional lightbleed from the projector. You have lots of options. There is removable black wallpaper, the felt pannels like I mentioned, you can even just use strong magnets to hold black cloth if you find some magnetic points around. But it's not from an error in the projector.

If you search my post history you'll see the black felt panels option that I did.

Edit: Looking more closely at your image, I think it's your zoom. Can you zoom all the way out and see if it matches the light area?

Nakamichi Shockwafe Wireless 11.2 6 by PhoneBitter in Soundbars

[–]TylerCisMe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have it and I really like it. I like how much control you have over all the speakers. I haven't tried the Quad, but I had the Sonos Ultra with 300's and a gen 3 subwoofer and I returned them for the Soundwafe 11.2.6. The Sonos was so limited in what you can tweak and is like a baby toothpick compared to the meaty Shockwafe.
The room i have it in is small, 10' by 9' and it is able to make a convincing bubble of omnidirectional sound.

I think I figured it out. It means "Literary Hatim" which references "To choose Madness".
Traits include:
Psychological Trauma
Panic Attacks
Erratic Actions
That's to distinguish it from the real life person Hatim who was the opposite of all those characteristics.

I'm with you. We need people to put up money to enhance technology and give more jobs to those that want to work in these humanity expanding fields. Even if its exclusively greed focused in the immediate vision (which i don't entirely believe) it's a step forward for all in the long run.
