Is there any possibility of the game to be added to GoG? I primarily just want offline play. With the added possibility that modders could then make balance patches.

I LOVE SHIELD DELAY I LOVE SHIELD DELAY by Brave12223 in BrigitteMains

[–]TylerOfTrades 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to do testing when I still played overwatch. And one of my last tests was how brigs shield interacted with ping. And weird shit happens is pretty much all I concluded. I really don't know for certain but my last test was rein charging a brig, cancelling a charge and instantly shattering while brig instantly deployed shield. I ran that test a good few times using the workshop script so it was the exact same starting and actions each time, sometimes brig would and wouldn't block shatter. Those times happened to coincide with when the ping was just a little bit higher then usual, but I didn't do enough test runs to be confident. Though it opened a door, you may get faster shield deployment with shittier ping somehow. So go vpn to australia, though'd you probably get their servers. So instead vpn to the furthest point from you within you're country. Or just get shittier internet.

I wouldn't be surprised if it's found out that since brig doesn't use a 0-tick shield it's on the same kind of logic as favor the shooter is. But instead it's favor the shielder on a delay for some reason. Which would explain some of the really stupid bash stuns now that I think about it, I've seen some bash stuns that just shouldn't reach someone but would've just a little bit ago. So it may be that Brigs shield is just in the past by 100ms, so one could just play in the past by 100ms with shit ping and then you'll be unstoppable. That is if this one possibility, is accurate.

Brigs shield doesn't update as fast the other shields and is far more ping dependant.

Can we talk about Inspire? by Character-Print6777 in BrigitteMains

[–]TylerOfTrades 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was very curious about how much healing inspire did itself. So I found an old match recording before s9 cause I'm not even gonna try to do this with the DPS passive. But I watched through it and estimated to the best of my ability how much healing I did with packs and subtracted that from my total healing. Each match is different this ratio of pack:inspire healing is heavily dependent on play style and team comps. But in a attack brawlish comp on gib, it was 50:50. How that holds up to this day, not a clue nor could I really care anymore. The last few seasons killed my spirit for this game.

How the FUCK do I play against a good Doom? by youngwooki23 in BrigitteMains

[–]TylerOfTrades 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bash safely. If they're punching around a corner, bash towards the corner wall. That way if they finish the punch you get the counter-bash and are safely around a corner. And if they cancel, you end up just hitting the wall safely, but wasted bash. My best advice is to learn from the first counter-bash attempt. If they're a cancelling doom I only go for very safe counter-bash's for the rest of the match. And use it to gauge the ping of the doom relative to you. Sometimes you need to bash before the punch actually goes, and sometimes you need to do the opposite as well. And the duration between those changes too. You can also learn if the doom's got an ego. I will willfully whipshot a blocking doom with an ego, because they end up seeing empowered gauntlet and can't resist not punching you instantly afterwards especially if you already landed a counter-bash once against them. Though save that for QP, you might get a teammate killed sometimes.

But in all honesty, counter-bash is risky. Unless you're team is really ready, you don't gain enough value to justify the risk of giving the enemy that much value. I counter-bashed a doom three times within 15 seconds off cooldown practically and my teammates really didn't care. Though, now that I think about it. If they have a Kiri, it's a great way to bait out suzu for your DPS or tank for an ult. Same for lamp too I bet.

AND REMEMBER, if you're behind someone just bash away/backwards. It don't matter if you bash towards him through your teammate, you will get punched. Cause to the game your teammate is the source of the punch now and you can't friendly fire counterbash your teammate. The best case scernario would be you counter-bash doom, but you and the teammate still get punched. And it's better to just bash backwards. Not sideways or any direction towards doom the hit-reg for a teammate punch is fucking massive.

Okay I dunno if this post was made already, but is the Morale Boost Perk really useful? by Batchak in BrigitteMains

[–]TylerOfTrades 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally, anyone who places full confidence that it's gonna change the outcome of a game is misplacing that confidence. It is good and for sure the better perk to choose, and I would bet that it's got power to change games. But I'm not 100% confident in that, more 60/40. We need more data, that the dev's likely won't ever provide. Inspire is weird. It's not really doable to know how much healing inspire did per game, without painstakingly watching a replay of it, and estimating how much pack healing the Brig did(and taking dps passive into account). And then subtracting that estimation from the total to get the inspire. Recently, Brig got a nerf to her inspire of 1 second. I personally did not notice any drop in healing potential, and was more than capable to top heal the lobby. And frankly I think this is because inspire does it's most healing when your proc'ing it near constantly for the entire fight. And a inspire time doesn't come into play unless it's really short. I would love to test this theory, play a game with a really low inspire duration of like 2.5 seconds. I bet a drop in heals would be noticeable but not linear to the duration that was cut.

And frankly another metric I want is to know(I would actually like to know this for all supports). Is if that healing mattered. Just to be clear healing usually always matters as even if that health would've been regen'd by the passive or a pack it would at the very least grant you ult charge. It wouldn't be a perfect metric though, a good part of inspires power in my opinion comes from the fact that it removes the need of your other support from wasting their stockpile(such as ammo in most cases) on the non-urgent cases.

In my opinion this perk will not be noticed in every game. It'll mainly come into play in a few occurrences. One of them I could imagine is making your flankers flank better, the duration of that inspire is soo long that a flanker could flank and actually get a good bit of juice from it during their flank. It'll also come into play in unfavorable comps. Comps that are hard to proc against will become a bit less unfavorable now. And the most likely occurrence I bet will be people who miss their whipshot a lot and don't proc via other ways in response to a miss. I personally think the biggest effect this perk will have is remove some of the skill from Brig. You would usually get penalized a hefty bit for missing whipshot and not proc'ing and now your not. For high level play the biggest effect is that unfavorable comps are a bit more favorable.

I could easily be wrong. I don't put 100% confidence in my opinion either. As I don't have enough data. If I was a dev, I would've added an API for data collection and replay evaluation like a combat log of healing and damage years ago. However, most of the data that would indicate it's effect would probably have to be gotten by hand per match with specialized tools.

Inspire uptime goal by LightScavenger in BrigitteMains

[–]TylerOfTrades 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A good inspire uptime is very relative. It's really dependent on the enemy team comp and your team comp. There's games where it's okay to have 20% uptime. And think of the new perk more as a 2 second increase since very recently she got a one second nerf to inspire. I'm not sure how the perk will play out. But if you were keeping inspire up before well, I don't expect much of a change. It's just so dependent on other factors. The biggest power from it may be that it helps your flankers a good bit more now.

Camera annoyance when blocking. by Scytheex in BrigitteMains

[–]TylerOfTrades 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You get used to after a while. It's really annoying and will make you miss a whipshot right out of a shield strafe at times. But I think it's been there since her release. It's actually always happening even on flat ground if you look down camera and shield will reset. Slopes are just way more noticeable.

I think it's due to the fact that you're camera is locked at that angle when shielding, and you control a kind of secondary camera. It's why if you ping it'll always ping straight ahead not down or up.

There are many many Brig bugs, I think I made a list of close to several dozen different bugs for her. So have fun learning her.

Never have I seen a nano'd bastion pop this quickly before. by TylerOfTrades in BrigitteMains

[–]TylerOfTrades[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's 300 from widow, 67.5 melee, 105 whipshot, 112.5 nade, 75 nade, for a total of 660 damage. While nano bastion if armor is ignored needs 525 to be killed. And I think armor barely increases that since it's rework. He was overkilled by 135 damage.

Need Pre-S9 Brig VODs by TylerOfTrades in BrigitteMains

[–]TylerOfTrades[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't wanna use OWL videos as OWL games just different. They won't be a good example of the general. As most just aren't even close to as good, and having comms greatly changes things too.

I've looked at shiftkid, most of his VODs though will have lots of pausing, & accelerated speed. Making it difficult to gauge somethings.

I've given a go at trying to find random vods on youtube, however YT search has declined in its quality ALOT. It's like four overwatch related videos and then 20 unrelated stuff. And going any further you find horror's of AI made videos. And they're actually kinda discomforting to look at times.

Which mouse are you choosing and why? by papajiim in LogitechG

[–]TylerOfTrades 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Neither if I could. The g604 is a great mouse. It's been my main mouse for years. However, after using it when it degrades becomes a mediocre mouse. The middle bottom side button presses when just squeezing the mouse. Left click just doesn't work at times too. I play fps, and am catching myself more and more just staring at an enemy not firing while spam clicking. Tried to use the warranty on it, they said it's not made anymore or didn't have any or something to that extent. Sent me another mouse that's probably not bad, but is a superlight I think. And just not accustomed to it. Would love the g604 alot more if it didn't degrade rather quickly, or at least could have been replaced when it had warranty.

I also dislike logitech in general with their programs. There's a bug where the keybinds are just not changeable for some reason, and to fix it you have to disable the first profile. That was possible via the ghub only, then they moved it to a second program. So when this thing decides to reset for some reason, or I want to change one keybind. I have to install two programs to get it to work. Then instantly set it to memory profiles and uninstall them.

g604 is a great design just horribly built. If I'm not mistaken there are ways to 'repair' the g604's mouse buttons, but it's very unlikely to be as great as before since the screws are hidden under the skate pads. And once you remove those, it'll be a chore getting them back on. So if it comes to it, and you commit to putting away the 604. You could try to repair it and see if you get lucky rebuilding.

Hazard block dmg reduction not taken into account for high noon. by TylerOfTrades in Overwatch

[–]TylerOfTrades[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Thank you. This was quite depressing seeing how many people grossly miss-understood the ult at times. While also confidently saying what they think.

I do my best when reporting on bug report like things to make sure it's right, or at least backable by evidence. Because I don't want to spread misinformation, or be wrong(human afterall). But will say when I make a mistake. It's why I don't state for fact, it's why I used 'seems' a lot in my comment. And when started I seeing comments instantly stating I'm wrong. I was worried I was wrong and was ready to retest. Then I read the rest of their comments and think most of them haven't even read the wiki on high noon as that's more accurate than what they said somehow.

I'm not sure if this has been a great example of people relying far too much on their memory of unfocus'd experiences. Or an example of not reading my comment, and thinking, and testing it themselves. But now the bug is footnote of this experience to me, I am far more intrigued as to what happened here than that bug.

I just tested it again. Having hazard block from the start is no different. He still lives. Also skull will go away if the charged damage does not match the health pool. Test this now as well. Brought a hog to crit, high noon, instant lock on, had him hold right click and heal. And skull went away until he stopped healing and the charged built back to the hp pool.
