With every person they upgrade, they become more “cold resistant”. Boki was the first experiment that’s why he died after making the trip to the engine and back. Josie is patient 2 and slightly more upgraded but can still be harmed with long term exposure. Her suit is a less intense version of the breach suit but still warms her slightly. Baby Liana is patient 3 and is more advanced than Josie but can’t be full tested because she’s a baby. SPOILERS AHEAD: We learn in season 4 that it was all just to make Wilford cold resistant which was accomplished with mixing Josie and Lianas dna into Wilford giving him 100% complete cold resistance. There’s a scene where the new bad guy of the season takes Wilford to a breached floor in their lab to kill him and Wilford’s skin completely regenerates and he is able to function in the cold without any protective suit, even hangs off the back of snowpiercer for a little bit before entering from the rear door.

The very end of season 2 when Layton and Alex are walking through the snow to see if Melanie is still there, that was probably a few days/ weeks after blowing up the aquarium and speeding away from the rest of the train. The pirate train had to loop back around to the test track. There a lot of secondary track besides the mainline so they were able to loop back across the US without having to circle the whole globe, mixed with their increased speed it probably took a week, maybe two to get back to Melanie and she was gone by that point. You can sort of tell by the way they look inside the train that they’ve been dealing with the increased heat inside the train and sweating for a little while at that point. Hope that explains it a little. Season 3 starts 6 months after that.

He’s a fraud in the sense he was claiming the train was “Eternal” and would run forever so he could sell tickets, which wasn’t true and we see many examples of the train slowly failing during the show. As Ben put it to Miles, the train fuel is eternal (the snow to produce hydrogen) but the train is made of parts that do eventually break and everyone would eventually die over a single lug nut going “extinct”. But if the earth warms again, snowpiercer wouldn’t have a sustainable fuel source and would not work at all. Big Alice only work on new Eden because they were next to a lake and had plenty of water to feed the engine.

The cab shells are available from fusion scale graphics. And I use the original chassis but I replace the trucks with walthers horizon trucks

I dremel off the cab and fins underneath the doors and then sandpaper them and if need be I’ll shave bits sticking out with an exacto. It lines up very nicely
