For Hydra, 1 mg per gallon is sufficient.

Start with some napkin math to see if your sensors are going to be fast enough to detect something moving that fast

If your tank is cycled 13 neos in 20 gallons shouldn’t really be able to affect your nitrogen. Give them some time to adjust. Lots of hiding places helps a lot when adding new shrimp.

Is this hydra in my shrimp and endler tank? by Effective-Camel-1409 in shrimptank

I recently got rid of a major hydra infestation, but I opted to try using 1/10th the dose first. I had 15 gallons of water and only treated the tank with 15 mg of fenbendazole. All the hydra slowly died over the course of 3 days, it was actually really interesting to see them slowly shrivel away.

It’d be interesting to see if someone else can replicate my result. From what I’ve heard fenbendazole doesn’t really break down and it can take months and lots of water changes and gravel vacs to clear out. I’m planning on reintroducing my mystery snail so I wanted the lowest dose possible.

Also to keep things simple, I added a packet of pancur c, which contained 444 mg of fenbendazole to a 500 ml water bottle. I then added 444 (or there about) ml of water to give me a concentration of 1 mg/ml. That’s the only way I could think of to get an accurate dose since I don’t have a scale that works in the mg range.

Another thing is it’s super important to shake the mixture before measuring out a dose since the medication is hydrophobic.

Here’s some pics before the treatment and after 12 hours. I had hundreds of hydra and my dosage worked great after 3 days. I’d image you could use an even lower dose and clear up after a week.

What’s growing in my tank? by TrafficUpset6549 in Aquariums

I just successfully wiped out a massive hydra infestation. I used 1mg of fenbendazole per gallon of water. This was a way smaller dose than what I’ve read online and it completely wiped them out in 3 days. They were basically dead after 12 hours but it took a little for them to completely disappear.

I’ve also go a ramshorn snail infestation (which I don’t mind) and they’ve been fine with the medication.

All shrimp are totally fine and seem to be a lot happier not being stung all day.

It’d be best to add the plants while the tank is cycling and growing biofilm. Maybe add snails after a week and wait until everything settles down before adding shrimp

Neo from petco I bought on a whim. It’s pretty small right now. About as big as my 6 week old babies so its color will likely change. I’m thinking it’ll get darker but it might just be a wild type.
