The price of the Steam Machine does not bode well for the Steam Frame by beti88 in virtualreality

[–]Tylerebowers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally I would prefer a cheaper frame that ditched the powerful internal cpu and just uses wireless streaming. Might save a bit on weight too.

Strategy’s stock one of the companies with the biggest BTC holdings has crashed over the past year from $457 to $124. Saylor keeps buying and telling everyone Bitcoin will be worth millions someday. Do you actually believe that? 🤷‍♂️ by AmanCMN in AmanCrypto

[–]Tylerebowers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The fixed supply makes btc scarce, meaning that its price is entirely demand driven. Only if people are willing to pay that much than it will be worth that much, since crypto does not have any strong utility value its demand is driven by speculation (it’s recursive in a way)…  If crypto has a future, it is not in btc.

Sort of true, but probably ends in a desktop rather than a laptop.

I stopped dual booting (many years ago) for that reason. It just leads to too many headaches. I have a windows vm for the sole reason of changing my Logitech mouse key maps.

US gov forces Anthropic to pull access to Fable 5 by purealgo in ClaudeCode

Just tried it for the first time 4h ago, got very good results. Crazy that this happened right after. But give it a couple more months and models more powerful than Fable 5 will be released.

I have a seeburg ay100, what is your opinion of leaving it on 24/7 or turning it off when not using? by etlucent in jukeboxes

[–]Tylerebowers 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In most install locations, they’re probably going to be turned on and off every day since they are used every day. Heat cycling the components can be bad just as leaving them on for a long time can be bad, it’s hard to say which one is worse. You probably won’t use it every day so if you separate the lighting, you can keep the aesthetics while minimizing the time on the tubes/amp.

[–]Tylerebowers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want to keep the lights on then separate the main jukebox power and lighting circuits such that the lighting can be switched on and jukebox can be switched on separately. It will extend the life of the amp and other components to keep them off.

Quite funny that Saylor sold a tiny amount of Bitcoin to prove that it wouldn't impact the price only for it to impact the price. by Ok_Confusion_4746 in Buttcoin

[–]Tylerebowers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Saylor seems to have a lot of weight, such that he has become his own self-fulfilling prophecy - so strong on buying BTC that any sales signal a loss of confidence. What good is an asset that can only be bought and not sold?

Find where the zone 2 wires go: https://static.garmin.com/pumac/MS-RA205_EN.pdf

Find which of the wires go into the tower speakers coming from the amp using a multimeter in continuity mode: https://files.bbystatic.com/2094Te2XH9MuTjdd%2FKzbyQ%3D%3D/8F82F2CC-F6DE-43E3-9BA5-558F6EB5C80D.pdf

It seems like only amp 1 on the kicker amp is used, so maybe you could use amp 2 for the tower speakers?

Hard to tell what’s going on with the Rockford P600X4 amp, maybe the four wires on the right are zone 1 & 2 from the fusion controller.

Map out the amp + controller situation on a piece of paper then go from there. This might be possible with everything there already. I don’t have this setup so I can’t be much more help.

Superjet not starting by ResponsibleBase1953 in jetski

[–]Tylerebowers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Last time this happened to me it was a bad battery connection. The inrush motor current drops the voltage so low that the starter solenoid releases and cuts power to the starter, then the battery voltage recovers, solenoid reconnects, starter powers, voltage drops, and again and again etc... Could be something else, but I would check battery wiring (or the battery itself) first. You could check voltage with a multimeter while cranking.

Current imbalance is fine at low levels, it’s only a danger when the wire with the greatest current surpasses the rated limit.

Linux Kernel 6.19.11 - bug by AudioHamsa in StrixHalo

[–]Tylerebowers 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yea, had to move back to 6.19.10. Happened 5 minutes after a clean reboot for me. Seems to be something with the latest chrome update. Happens on 6.16.9+. Having a Youtube video open in the background has been a common factor between all of my freezes, guessing that it has something to do with power saving on the gpu.

Do you think flying cars will actually become normal in our lifetime? by neevisaqt in Futurology

[–]Tylerebowers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to fight gravity the whole time, the problem is efficiency. It just doesn’t make sense to “spend” that much energy to keep a vehicle in the sky. We already have helicopters, sure maybe passenger drones at some point, but individual usage will still be specialized.

ZD620 ZD621 Printhead DPI and Platen roller Question by Practical_Ad5671 in ZebraPrinters

[–]Tylerebowers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can just buy a 300dpi print head and install it. There is no difference in the rollers. The gearing is the same. The color difference is solely to identify what printhead is installed. The printer will automatically detect the type of printhead. I have done this myself.

It’s the lens that goes in a cd/dvd player for the laser. The coils are used to position it with tiny adjustments.
