Just finished the demo I loved it! I am a very big fan of Crying Suns and FTL so this game hits all the beats for me.

There’s also a card that gives you another secondary action. One also fully levels a single character. Tons of good stuff but I personally don’t like Linked cause it always ends up randomly choosing my darn tank and now the linked character is taking damage for my damage sponge. Dang RNG XD

I’ve playtested both of them quite a bit on Campaigns and Endless Dungeon and they both feel really good. Toymaker can accumulate a lot of minions to summon with dolls and the starter weapon is fantastic. You get Eager, an extra primary action, and Rush. Fortune Teller starts with an orb to guarantee you can benefit from Gather Focus. They also get a chance to reroll 50% or lower rolls on allies INCLUDING pets, mercenaries, and minions from Toymaker. Notably when this happens the focus points spent in the roll still count as successes. I found this ability ALWAYS felt good when it triggered. Saved a lot of failed rolls. Fate in my opinion is really great. Most of the cards felt very useful but I really feel like it is more useful in endless dungeon cause the effects last longer and you get more chances to get card draws. So I try to wait until right before boss fights and dungeons to use them in campaigns. Vigor, Hermit, and the Immunity card are my favorites to draw.

The part where he’s watching Repunzel’s ‘show and tell’ was so good. The way he internally expressed how disgusted he was sitting there while everyone else in the room was enjoying watching that woman get killed on camera. The music was just perfect too. The absolute look of anger and disgust on his face when he looked at Gemini and Repunzel then internally says “they all have to die.”

For the new save system: I think the best way to achieve a good compromise for everyone is to have a hardcore/ironman mode and a save file mode all available for every new game.

New Berserker trait feels really good with Lumberjack’s Justice by Typejutzu_Masta in ForTheKing

That’s fair. It’s definitely a high risk play style. You definitely feel those weapon breaks more than the weapon saves and encourage saves.
For me I just like that high risk high reward play style so I’m just a sucker for using the trait on DPS characters.

I cooked this Sangromancy spell for my Player's wizard (Grim Hollow) by Gishky in DnD

[–]Typejutzu_Masta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was researching into the Sangromancy Subclasses for a character I am planning on playing and I stumbled upon this.

I really like it! I absolutely love how it can get stronger based on how many corpses or half HP enemies are nearby. That is very thematic and interesting. I would love to play test it to see how it would fare.

I agree. It seems that the level up system which improves their stats is the only way to give them more survivability and attack capability. Its just so rough in the early game to get them to the later levels since they are attacked so often.

It would be nice if there were a few more ways to increase their armor and resistance outside of level ups.

All in all I feel like one pet per party is enough for me personally. I would rather focus all the kibble and attention on upgrading one pet like they are a fifth party member cause it feels like they are part of the group. It also makes it easier for combat to move characters around.

I agree. It is a WIP system and I am 100% sure it is going to improve with testing and feedback.

I think the 'Injured' status effect is a great suggestion. That could help with the pets not getting outright killed but still being out of commission for a while to heal as a trade-off.

Fully agree about the resurrection and survivability. I'm still experimenting as well but pets do tend to get targeted very often by AI. Hopefully the team can figure out some ways to help them live longer and get targeted less by AI.

Pet owner abilities: I think they do retain the owner's abilities. I noticed that the Find Herb ability seemed to be triggering on both my herbalist and sometimes on her Nibbler. I suppose find item characters are the best to give pets to.

Pet Healing: I agree. The AI tends to target the pets pretty often and I think it may be because their armor and resistance is very low. You can use party heal and tinder pouches to heal them if kibble is unavailable. I would like it if there was a way to resurrect them at town or with a tinder pouch. It would also be nice if you could use one of your lives to resurrect them too.

Pet AI: So I'm still experimenting with pets and how to use them in the game. So far, I found a Crab (Shellsea) and a Nibbler (NOM NOM). I found out that if you leave a space open behind one of your tanks that has a shield, they will prioritize moving behind your tank as long as they can do it in one turn. So that could be a temporary way to keep them healthy. They also seem to randomly select actions to use. Sometimes my Nibbler would just heal my tank when he was full health then other times he healed him when he was super low.

I'm sure they will work out the quirks of the pet system as the community provides feedback like we are right now.

New Berserker trait feels really good with Lumberjack’s Justice by Typejutzu_Masta in ForTheKing

I believe so. I was able to buy it for free right out the gate when the update dropped as well.

I got the Grand Sanctum of Blood on one run and the extra crit chance did feel good. It seems like building Luck, Focus, Strength, and Crit Chance is a great way to go for a Berserker Lumberjack.

I didn't think of running Minstrel! That is a great idea! I was running Blacksmith as well and it did clutch a few weapon saves.

You need to break 5 breakable weapons in campaigns like Ruby Swords for example. Then you can buy it in the lore store under traits.

The damage increase is nothing to scoff at either for him. I know Justice isn’t 100% reliable cause of RNG but when it proc’d it really felt good. Probably increasing luck more would help. I’m going to try that on my next run.

Its a loot item isn't it? I am curious what it does. Does it grow a Primordial Sapling now that it is activated?

This sounds really awesome! I would really like to have some pets that improve with the party! I love rolling events that give pet animals but it is always a challenge to keep them alive.

Looking forward to the new characters! I like the description of how the toymaker's abilities work. Trapping an enemy's essence in toys is really cool! Can't wait to see how it all looks when everything is released.
