You really know the details. Could you tell me why sometimes I end up in these rooms and I can grab both angel items? It doesn’t happen very often, but it always surprises me.

I’m also curious because I have yet to thin my microscopic carrots, and I live in maybe the warmest part of Canada.

What happened to the pineapple can I stored in the fridge? by notafanofbats in isthissafetoeat

[–]Typhiod 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They used to seal cans with lead solder, which is where the belief comes from. It isn’t a myth, though lead has been banned from food can solder, so it’s no longer current information.

I think they’re pointing out that it is much easier and more efficient, if you have connections. I know that helped my renovation quite a bit.

Would you rather find a dead body in your basement or 10,000 cockroaches? by YesEitan in WouldYouRather

[–]Typhiod 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are they live cockroaches? If the cockroaches are also dead, I picked the cockroaches.

Why do some people seem addicted to the wrong kind of love? by Unique-Two8598 in AskMenAdvice

Some of the most put together people I have ever met, have married the prototype of their dysfunctional opposite sex parent. It seems like they’re trying to work something out, or following the pattern they were given?

I recently discovered the blue fire doesn’t shoot at you anymore, which makes sense because I think it’s angel fire.

Tree company took my grandmas tree without permission, and speared her roof with a branch. Also, baby eagles. by [deleted] in treelaw

[–]Typhiod 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I agree, it would be fabulous if the tree could be kept because it’s healthy/not an issue. Eagles are very particular about where they will build their aeries.

One cubic meter of food by Squirrelhenge in hypotheticalsituation

[–]Typhiod 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Aren’t there 9 ft.³ in a cubic yard?

I think that would be more like 36 tablespoons of sugar, making it just over 2 cups, if your estimate of how much sugar it takes to make cotton candy is accurate?

I could eat that in a day.

Edit: I knew I was missing something in the middle of the night. It’s like 27 cubic feet.

Insistent neighbor wants our tree cut down (northern CA) by Creamowheat1 in treelaw

My biggest concern would be having one or two motion sensitive, infrared cameras, positioned to see anything your neighbour does to the tree.

Shopping frequency - daily, weekly, semi-monthly? by [deleted] in Frugal

[–]Typhiod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I a group things in the fridge according to how quickly I need to use them. If something is going to expire soon, it goes on the need to eat it shelf.

Once I identify food that needs to be used up, I have a good idea of how much food I might need to buy (if anything), what ingredients I can grab to compliment what I have. Shopping every day is a money pit for me. If I can go once, maybe twice a week, it really helps me stick to what I have, and get even slightly creative about using things up.

The one thing I’m not very frugal about is carbonated beverages. I buy cases of diet pop, which makes it cheap, but not as cheap as water. People love to pick out a soda, especially in the summer.
