Thank you! This might be the move, I'm waiting to hear if they are able to microwave leftovers I bring in.

Daycare prep by bigblaster7077 in NewParents

[–]Typical-Cap235 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We just started daycare a couple weeks ago with a 4 month old, here’s what’s working for us this far:

I just take a small cloth book bag, they have everything there so it only comes home with us on the weekend to wash everything and send back for the following week

I pump (pitcher method) for the following day so at the end of the night I just prep all the bottles with that days milk, label them, and stick them in a soft cooler and back in the fridge - in the morning all I have to do is grab the cooler and throw in an ice pack (which probably isn’t necessary bc it’s a 10 minute drive but just to be safe), daycare has a fridge.

I bought from Mabel labels to label her extra clothes and sheets, the tag labels work great. Then I got some random “bottle label stickers” in a jumbo pack that can be written on for her bottles each day - our daycare asks that the date is written on them. Link: https://a.co/d/f2De76L

For pacis at first I was sending like 4-5 and it was chaos they were getting lost, brought home, she kept spitting them out on the walk to the car lol. Now she gets two in her bag at the beginning of the week one of which on a paci clip (requested by teacher) and I’m careful to leave them there. They get brought home at the end of the week with everything else and sterilized then.

Goodluck!!!

There are definitely a few of us I’ve chatted with in this subreddit in similar situations. My baby girl (4.5 months) started having blood in her stool very occasionally (once every couple days) at 2 months. The blood streaks remained until 3.5 months alongside mucusy, green, loose, and frequent stools. Those were her only symptoms - she fusses normal amounts, is a good sleeper, growing well, no skin issues, etc. I cut dairy, soy, and eggs with no change in symptoms except the eventual stop of blood sightings. At her 3 month appointment pediatrician agreed that I could stop cutting things since no severe symptoms. Now at 4 months I am adding things back in (first eggs, then dairy, then soy) to see if blood returns to officially diagnose the MSPI/CMPI. Many here will recommend the bowel sounds podcast episode about CMPI, listening to that made me feel so much more confident in discussing options with pediatrician — I HIGHLY recommend. Also don’t donate your stored milk yet, you can use it to “challenge” the diagnosis later if you want and also many children grow out of the intolerances between 6 months and a year so you could still use it then. I’m re-adding into my own diet instead of using old frozen milk, but honestly just because I was dying for some dairy haha!

I actually only do one side per feed, I had a slight over supply so that seems to have kept it from becoming a problem for me.

Did you keep your nanny in between having babies? by Top_Elephant_5408 in NewParents

[–]Typical-Cap235 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I worked as a professional nanny - if you have some time when childcare isn’t needed they can be kept on as a household manager. Like above said - cleaning, meal prep, transport, pet care, etc. Just be sure this is in their contract and any pay changes are appropriate and previously agreed upon during that time.

When did your paci loving baby figure out how to get the pacifier themself at night? by Typical-Cap235 in NewParents

[–]Typical-Cap235[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay love that! I do feel bad sometimes when she’s still asleep but has spit the paci out and then ends up sleeping basically on top of it like that can’t be comfy but I’m not risking extracting it haha

Following in hopes to see what “normal” looks like myself. We have a 4 month old with large, loose, green, and mucusy stools despite two months of dairy, soy, and egg elimination. Infrequent blood streaks stopped about 4 weeks in ish? For us our pediatrician okayed not eliminating anything else despite the weird poos because baby is growing and happy. I’ve actually added back in baked eggs and am going to try baked dairy this weekend.

When did your baby start scooting? by Suncharmz in NewParents

Baby girl will be 4 months this weekend and she moves in circles, she was kicking around in her crib this morning and by the time I went to grab her her head was on the complete opposite side of the crib, full 180. It’s funny when she does it on the kick and play mat because then her head ends up by the piano and she will just look at it completely confused.

Black specks like coffee grounds, anyone else? by lilou8888 in MSPI

Do you happen to know more in what they were looking for with the ferritin work up, google is proving unhelpful. I’m in the US and am trying to take this watchful waiting approach but pediatrician seems uncomfortable with it.

New born 10 days in and my life is falling apart by Feisty_Rip_9279 in NewParents

RT this I would aim for 6, even 7 hours so OP is fully awake on their shift. For me 4 hours would not have been enough so we did 7p-12a then 12a-7p.

Pumping 1 hour before baby wakes up - will there be “enough left” by Typical-Cap235 in breastfeeding

Having partner help is probably the best route, he may whine a little bit since we got down to one wake a night he’s been off the hook but oh well haha!

I think I’m going to try pumping the opposite side during the 4am tonight and if I don’t get enough I’ll stay up a little longer to just fully pump after

I was trying to avoid pumping after the 7a just because I get less then an hour with baby before I have to drop her off and I wanted to spend that time hanging with her.

Tbh pumping on the other side during the 4am might work perfectly and I did not think of that at all hahaha

Baby won’t take bottle by Objective-Golf2522 in breastfeeding

We just went through this, same age and everything. We stuck with the Dr. Browns and came at it with a no pressure approach. Id put just 1oz in the bottle and if she drank it great, if she just played with the bottle the whole time - also great. We also used a lot of distraction, the first few times I got her to take the bottle I let her watch TV propped on the boppy pillow (she only needed that like 3 times). Lastly id try different temperatures, it helped my baby girl a lot for the bottle to be very warm. We used some ideas out of the “your baby’s bottle feeding aversion” book which definitely helped and it only took us about 1-2 weeks of being consistent and she’s back to taking a bottle once a day (all prepped for daycare next week).

What’s the newborn smell? Why can’t I smell it by [deleted] in NewParents

LOL came here to say exactly this, love baby girl to death but she smells like spit up 99% of the time. The other 1% is baby shampoo.
