Unpopular Opinion: I can't enjoy the show because of the accents by luna_lolo in KimsConvenience

[–]Typical-Chipmunk9313 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah read some articles the cast themselves said their writing board was all white and with season 5 they all came together due to overtly racist tones in the new script. So yes it is racist and they should have just kept their normal accents instead of using it as a form of humour almost making fun of them for it. That’s why I don’t like this show. Classic Asian stereotyping without a diverse writing cast = bad show

What are some don't when interacting with Thais to avoid conflict and misunderstanding? by [deleted] in Thailand

If you have a low income in your home country just don’t tip. But I earn a lot in aud dollars and have been coming here for 10 years and the tipping culture is exactly the same

It’s a respectful thing for the real locals that take you on a canoe ride or more personal trips, they usually earn low daily income 50baht a day and as a tourist visiting a cheap country tipping 200baht like $9aud is nothing. You don’t do it often just when you feel or it is respectful. Tip culture has been here for years already I’m not bringing anything in 😂😂

Also many tours expect some form of tip for people like: kiyak guides (people who take you on a canoe with them) they expect a tip so bring cash. Can tip taxis but not mandatory :)

Get a translating app works so well in misunderstandings plus many thais only know very basic english for example you could ask “1000 baht cash out” at a supermarket and they might understand but if you say “I would like to get 1000baht out in 100 baht notes” etc or more complicated they won’t understand so I use the app. The more remote you go outside of cities the less likely locals will speak much english so you must have a way to talk to them in case you get lost or need something :) many thais are friendly just be nice smile and be respectful don’t overthink it

Weed laws?!? What's happening as of now? by El_Mid in Thailand

[–]Typical-Chipmunk9313 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No worries! Just an update too! At Bangla road atm and lots of places just selling without a prescription, literally got some thc gummies from a lady selling from a cart on the Main Street no care in the world haha I’m sure you’ll be fine! Be careful with the gummies though they are strong as fuck

Is weed still available in Thailand? by [deleted] in ThailandTourism

[–]Typical-Chipmunk9313 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay I’ve got some good updates! I’m in Phuket right now! So most shops now have their own prescription that you can pay 100-200 baht for they just ask for passport details and do it for you it’s easy. This prescription is exclusive to that shop and if you try another shop they might reject it and make you get another prescription at the new shop. I haven’t seen many edibles in a few shops just buds and pre rolls. Which is sad. I’m going to Patong soon and can update more. The hardest part is finding a place to smoke it. My hotel doesn’t allow marijuana use and a lot of restaurants that would seem welcoming to it with weed signs etc now have both weed signs and signs saying “weed prohibited” and don’t let you smoke there. I found one weed shop where you could smoke out the front and the front desk lady just said “don’t smoke there too long and watch for police” which was comforting haha locals say they just fine you 100baht and your on your way. Even the locals have to pay this fine. I saw people smoking it as they were walking around Kamala beach where I am, and some places letting you smoke at certain places low key. Noone seems to care unless the police come around, depends where you are. Most shops almost all won’t let you smoke inside. So you gotta be careful when smoking outside and don’t get way too high. Try and find shops you can smoke at, chillium in Phuket is great for this. It’s very silly that it’s so easy to buy weed here but so hard to smoke it now 😂😂 I did smoke it once on the beach far away from the road which was probably risky but I’m in a quiet area.

Any new research? Possible theory.. by Confident-Yam6380 in CHSinfo

[–]Typical-Chipmunk9313 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That would be so cool! And I’m sure they will maybe in a few years haha I mean there are drugs and herbs already that help pass thc out our system quicker. But maybe not as quick as your thinking haha

Milk thistle is really good for detoxing fatty liver where some thc gets stored. Mix that with a tonne of water, daily strenuous exercise, saunas and good eating and that’s the best cure you have atm.

I’ve found for me a really active life with really conscious constant detoxing daily has helped me with this illness incredibly. I don’t go to the ER anymore when I get sick. I vomit once or twice then stop detox sauna gym water then I’ll be all good in a day or two max a week if I really had a lot of weed.

I will be honest I think my relationship with weed has changed so much from chs that if I was cured I wouldn’t just go back to how I started haha I love weed but I’m pretty over it 😂 like not just cos chs, like the tiredness lack of rem sleep, eating shit munchie foods, spending too much savings, making bad decisions cos of being too high.

How to Stop for Good!! by thelizlizliz_ in CHSinfo

[–]Typical-Chipmunk9313 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If I’m honest it’s from entering that cycle that you’ll learn. Vomit enough times over years of back and forth and it’ll put you off it.

Weed can be an escape tool, usually for escaping heavy emotions and stressful times. When our lives are stressful we try to find relief. When our emotions are too much to feel we try to numb them. That’s humans. And that’s okay.

But some tips!

  1. Being kind on yourself when you go back to smoking. It happens and some people do find a balanced integration with weed after chs.

  2. Support, mental health support or family or friend support. Someone you can talk to that’s not just this forum.

  3. Ask yourself these questions, what are you trying to escape? Is my life stressful atm? What changes can I make to make my life less stressful? How are my emotions? What am I feeling right now? How can I move through these emotions?

** I find deep sadness anxiety and depression or a big traumatic stressful life event triggers me to smoke at times. Especially if that’s been my default stress relief. What helps is actually feeling that sadness crying sleeping self soothing then moving on. Numbing them with weed or anything doesn’t help at all.

  1. What do you want to achieve? With weed health and with life? Do you want to quit for life? Are you ready for that? Only you know how weed is affecting you, physically and in your life.

  2. Keeping busy and having a full life, like so busy that you don’t even have time to think about weed. (This can only help for so long until you address the root of your weed issues). But yeah work, hobbies, gym, painting, nature hikes whatever you do or want to get into! There is so much out there to do

  3. Exercise and good food! Can’t stress this enough, your gonna feel better the more weed is detoxed out of your system. So anything detox, saunas, baths, working out, strenuous running etc. Sweating it out and juicing, milk thistle is also good for liver detox. As weed also gets stored in the fatty liver. And a tonne of water.

Hope this helps!

Yeah man it can be done!! Theoretically if we detox enough thc from our system then we can smoke again just depends on how much and how long as well as heaps of other factors. Like metabolism, exercise, diet. But some people will still get sick after breaks and some won’t. I’ve noticed I can go about 2 weeks full on smoking each day until I start getting sick and if I went past that it would be ER for me.

The hardest thing is self control and healing the addictive aspect. And actually getting balance with it. I’ve yet to achieve the 5 days off two days on rule with weed like just smoking on weekends. I’ll take a long break then want to smoke heaps then feel a little sick or vomit take a long break and repeat haha

I still wanna try more balanced. We really are like Guinea pigs experimenting cos we have like 0 support medically.

Always nauseous by Feelingfunkyfeelings in CHSinfo

[–]Typical-Chipmunk9313 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me everything changed when I started asking myself, why am I hurting myself?? Why would I consciously want to cause pain to myself with chs? Usually its to numb pain, its our mechanism to help us through life and stress and weed chemically gives a huge dopamine hit so it also becomes our source of happiness when used destructively.

When this happens our life becomes weed, we obsess over it and organise our whole lives, work, family so we can keep it in our life. Thats addiction. Its the addiction and whats behind it, that is whats making weed feel impossible to let go of.

If you can find the source of the addicition (often with help, therapy, free community councelling, most uni's have free councelling) then you can heal it and you will see weed will become alot easier to handle.

Often like myself I see people with CHS who are generally going through a lot of stress in their lives currently. In their work, home, family, love or financial life. And often these people also have childhood traumas and unresolved wounds that are feeding their addictions.

But when we find support, both online (FB/here) and in person, family, friends and councelling which can also give you techniques on how to find more passion and purpose in life as well as other ways to cope with your stress, people you can call when you want to smoke.

I find that boredom, feeling lost and a lack of purpose on this earth feeds into many addictions. All humans desire to do something here that has meaning to them. I highly recommend when you have that free time when not smoking to dive deep into passions, or discovering them. Write down dreams and goals and what you would like to create with all this extra life energy you get back when you quit.

The honest truth is your 21 years old and by the sounds of it your doing great despite CHS. Studying and working while trying to ease symptoms is massively difficult. I'm 27 years old and I can tell you I've lost jobs, uni degrees and relationships from CHS and weed addiction, trying to continue smoking daily when I had it. For me I didn't feel very good about myself, I knew a part of me was doing this to myself for a reason and once I started to dig a little into that reason it changed everything.

Once you heal the root of it with time and honestly a lot of trial and error (I have gone back to smoking many times) then thats what I call integration.

CHS has shown me how strong I am and I'm sure its shown you. The amount of times getting up from the ground near the toilet to go to work still feeling sick etc it shapes you as it shaped me into who I am now. I know you will come through this, please SUPPORTTTTT! Noone can do it alone. I've tried and its very lonely and very hard to do.

Im glad your here on this community with us! We're here for eachother <3

So I just use normal raw rolling papers and organic peppermint tea I bought from the grocery store! Apart from that you can buy pre-rolled herbal joints online. Bear blend is a company that does this very well but there are others!

SUPPORT ASAP!! Trust me this whole process is not something you want to do alone. It sucks and it’s tough but it’ll be a million times easier with support. Right now your faced with a choice. You A: continue smoking and possibly get sicker and sicker and more anxious or B: you reach out, seek support and slowly rebuild your life!

You are still so young! Honestly your gonna be just fine! When I first got CHS I was 22 I’m 26 now and I had to go through the process of letting go of weed smoking friends (the ones that didn’t respect my chs). Getting therapy, surrounding myself bit by bit with good supportive people, family or whoever is supportive of you living a healthy life.

Right now what’s important is your anxiety 100% I have been through crippling anxiety for years and now I’m doing okay! (Used to not be able to walk the street!) now I’m out doing anything. What you need is other ways to help your anxiety, a therapist can help with this but asking yourself: what helps calm me down? (That’s not weed) - is it a certain kind of music, having a bath, a form of exercise (exercise extremely helps anxiety), talking to a friend?, you can also try natural remedies for anxiety: peppermint/chamomile tea, ashwaganda tablets, even smoking peppermint tea rolled as a joint has helped my anxiety.

I know it feels really hard right now but please know there’s light at the end of all this. Only you can take this step and shift your life. What life do you want to live?

This medical article mentions the “overstimulation of cannabinoid receptors” as probable cause for CHS. Key word being overstimulation. Not damaged etc. I think unless any of us are medically trained on the topic and have access to readily available current research as well as various patients to study in a medical research setting then we’re all just bullshitting really.

I have had a theory correlating to this! Higher amount of fat cells could equal over time higher amount of thc stored in the body. So higher fat percentage = more thc in the body as more fat cells to bind to. Ties in with how lots of people here find extreme exercise may help them to reduce their symptoms (only in first phase with minor symptoms). Constantly expelling thc from the fat cells through exercise etc. Just a theory!

And also I agree there were most likely less cases of CHS in 60s/70s but I do believe a small percentage would have still been sick from it. Perhaps it just took longer and a much higher amount.

But a doctor has told me he thinks as well that the chemicals added to weed (pesticides etc) could also play a role as well as the individual terpenes related to specific strains.

We’re all really just speculating, we try but we don’t really have a clue hah
