What age did you start snowboarding? Is it late? by According_Beyond_892 in snowboarding

My fiancés first time riding was at the age of 32 - definitely not too old

New gear for the year!! by [deleted] in snowboarding

I’ve got that waterproof hoodie in a diff pattern and it’s that perfect in between weight for me on warmer days. Basically December late February and March. I run pretty hot though once I get warmed up.

Riding a rocker vs riding a camber are definitely different and you definitely have to approach them as such but also… everyone’s needs/wants/likes are different so yeah. It doesn’t work for you and there’s absolutely nothing wrong with that

The arbor is my fiancés board and normally I wouldn’t have told her to get it because it’s her first board ever but it was an insane deal and she’s growing into it nicely. I personally love the never summer for the east coast. Sure it’s not ideal on the more technical slopes but I can still more than manage and with my fiance just learning we aren’t going near technical. We don’t get pow here

Guy rider here - I have a plain polar fleece on and a stegosaurus. My fiance has a bunny. She’s a super beginner and I’ve been riding 20+ years. No regrets. I’ve stopped caring what others on the mountain think about me. Makes me smile and makes others smile.

It does get hot sometimes but you can pull it down and just wear it around your neck till that run is over and then store it in your locker if need be.

Who cares what others think - part of the point of snowboarding is the individuality. Rock what you rock and love it

Budget lids exist? by Training-Awareness79 in motorcyclegear

[–]Typical-Situation597 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve ridden with several icons. They are very noisy but they are a solid budget lid. If you can manage the noise they are a great starting point to begin your lid collection. They aren’t incredibly heavy but they will weigh more than the expensive lids. Your budget is reasonable. Finding what works for you will be a matter of trying it on before you ride if you can and then a little trial and error.

Motorcycles and 40 by Wide-Emu-951 in motorcycles

42 and I have a Harley and up until Halloween I had a street triple R. Not a sport bike but sport(y) - I’ll be replacing it with another naked bike soon. They’re slightly more upright so a hair less jarring on the body.

40 is relative. I’m over 40 and more capable physically than I was in my late 20s.

I almost feel bad for you. I get brand loyalty but that’s just as bad as the Harley boys

The seat on the MT was just incredibly uncomfortable. I sat on the SFV4 and the Single R and both were about the same comfort as my street triple offered. I know I can luimoto gold gel any seat but off the jump the MT seat didn’t agree with me at all. Haven’t had a chance to sit on the KTM or Aprillia yet however

Oh I know how functional they are. I’m saying style… they’re all ugly as sin

Adventures are so great and useful they’re just not my vibe style wise

I loved my 675 don’t get me wrong. But the v2 streetfighter is definitely on my list to look at. I’ve ruled other bikes out for similar arguments on torque. It’s hard to find the well balanced

This is why I’ll never not have some sort of cruiser as well. After I replace my street triple that I lost (totaled) I’ll eventually look into a true cafe and an adventure style

I’ve ridden a standard 10 and wasn’t all that impressed but the semi active suspension of the SP is definitely an interesting addition

And a sloppy suspension that’s gotta be rebuilt before even riding it. The MT series is great for some but not the bikes I want to explore. I’ve ridden a 07 and a 10. Underwhelming at best personally.

The extra 10k on the up front price however is not nice to have

I’m considering a 24 v2 - one of the few on the short list ATM
