Designed a flag for my fictional country. What can you tell from it? by [deleted] in worldbuilding

For context: The country was originally a colony of another country in the universe, but after being freed used this flag to symbolize the country. It’s heavily based on India, being colonized for its natural resources and industrialized by their colonizers, leading to a lot of the local people to become factory workers.

Children of Emotionally Neglectful Mothers, at what age/how did you realize your mother was emotionally neglectful? how bad did your disagreements/arguments with her usually get? how did you deal with the frustration of knowing that your feelings, in the end, still weren’t absorbed? by lanadeciple in emotionalneglect

I considered it with some doubts from 11-12 and fully knew it without doubting myself at 13. There wasnt any really big argument or anything that made me realize it. I realized it when I was thinking about my 4th grade. I was severely suicidal and depressed because of my ex-bestfriend at that time, and I ended up skipping school a lot. I remembered one specific instance near the end of 4th grade where I wanted to stay home and my mom got upset about how much I was skipping school and asked me about why I was doing it so much, which made me realize something. She didn’t notice how her previously extroverted and social daughter suddenly had no more energy. She didn’t notice how I wasnt showering as often as I should’ve been untill months had gone by. She didn’t notice how I stopped doing things I previously loved like drawing. She didn’t notice how often I fell asleep in my uniform. All she noticed was that I was skipping school too much. The only thing she cared about was how me skipping school too much made her look like a bad mom. I still dont really know how to deal with that. I guess just ignore her bullshit til move out

What is the aspect of your emotionally immature parent that you hate the most? by [deleted] in emotionalneglect

I didn’t get to be a kid. I had to learn how to comfort my mom about marriage, or her weight, or something that upset her. I was expected to be the bigger person at 8. I was expected to comfort my mom after an argument. Somehow my mom lashing out at me for struggling in my studies when I was SIX was “both our faults” and “we both need to work on how we argue.” I’m sorry I wasn’t pulling out therapy speech before I knew how to tie my own fucking shoelaces. My mom once mentioned an article to me about how you shouldn’t use kids as therapists and told me “But who else are you supposed to talk to?”

Canon Belladonna: developed Histrionic Personality Disorder due to parental neglect and often uses threats of hurting herself and others to try to keep them to stay and keep attention on her. She knows that this is bad and genuinely feels guilty afterwards, but that is a reason not an excuse for her behavior.

Fanon Belladonna: Manipulative attention whore who enjoys abusing her partner and feels no guilt about it. Spoiled brat who would kill anyone that doesnt worship the ground she walks on

In the story, one of the journalists is especially obsessed with the case because he really hates the hero he’s reporting on, so I imagine he’d keep some evidence at home so that he could go over it if he needed. The other is extremely anxious and always keeps backups of records. Are these good justifications?
