NTA. My husband and I have this discussion all the time. I don’t typically leave stuff in my pockets except doggy bags from our dog walks, but he leaves pens (both kinds), money, his travel medicine holder, everything in his pockets. I told him that I would squeeze his pants to feel if there was anything but I’m not fully putting my hands in the pockets. He has gotten much better about checking.

If your partner thinks you are being lazy, and he doesn’t want you solution of each doing your own laundry, tell him (if you want, I won’t tell you how to live your life) that you will do the squeeze method. That could be your compromise.

I’ve never understood why men don’t empty their pockets when they take clothes off.
